An online website, targeting families prepping for a disaster or government coup, is building a private commune, surrounded by fortified walls to families willing to relocate to Idaho. According to the commune’s website, interested families must commit to defending the fortress against “all enemies, foreign and domestic”.

The community, set to be built on 2,000 acres of Idaho land is only available to those who pass a rigorous background check assessing their militia loyalty and values.

The founders at hope to attract between 3,500 and 7,000 families to the fortress. The community promises to be protected by massive walls, encasing its community inside a compound which includes gardens, farmers market, arms factory, schools and a firearms museum and lookout towers.

Interested families are encouraged to apply here, and agree to carry firearms and take an oath to protect the community from any unfriendly intruders. The commune will be called the “Citadel” and will encompass a vast space of land between 2,000 and 3,000 acres.

If a sign designated its entry, it would likely read, “Long haired, hippy people, need not apply”, however, the Citadels’ requirements are boldly stated on their website, making it abundantly clear what types of folks they’re looking for:

Marxists, Socialists, Liberals, and Establishment Republicans may find that living within our Citadel Community is incompatible with their existing ideology and preferred lifestyles.

Lots are free to worthy applicants, but residents are expected to build their own homes. Among the Citadel’s many requirements, families must agree to homeschool or send their children to schools inside the fortress which promote the militias ideology.  The Citadel community also asks that “all able bodied Patriot [must] maintain one AR15 variant in 5.56 mm NATO and at least 5 magazine and 1,000 rounds of ammunition”.

To apply for a spot in this community or to read their vast list of requirements, visit the Citadel’s website.
