Anna Nicole Smith's daughter, Dannielynn, modeling for Guess

Dannielynn Birkhead, 6, is following in her mother’s footsteps, modeling for Guess in an upcoming kid’s clothing line promotion.

Guess is where Dannielynn’s mother, Anna Nicole Smith, got her career started in professional modeling.

Danielynn’s father, Larry Birkhead gained custody of Dannielynn in 2007, approximately two months after her mother died in hotel in Hollywood, Florida, from a drug overdose. Paternity tests proved that Birkhead was Danielynn’s father after several men came forward claiming they were the child’s father. Birkhead promised to keep Dannielynn out of the spotlight, committing to raising his daughter as a normal kid, without the undue pressures of celebrity. Many people believe Dannielynn’s mother, Anna Nicole, paid the ultimate price for fame in her short, tortured life leading to death by drug overdose in 2007. Dannielyn was only five months old when her mother died, Anna Nicole was 39.

Birkhead now claims that Dannielyn is paying tribute to her mother by modeling for Guess Kids. On Good Morning America on Tuesday, Birkhead said, “Dannielynn has always looked up to her mom’s image and . . . I think that this is kind of Dannielynn’s way of paying tribute to her mom in her own special way.”

Birkhead claimed that Dannileyn’s Guess participation might be her only connection to Anna Nicole.

One thing’s for sure however, the youngster does bear a striking resemblance to her mother. (See photos below.)
