A Naples, Florida, man has been arrested and charged with one count of incest after one of his relatives fell pregnant and named him as the father.
Anthony Alan Larde, 20, was allegedly having sex with a female relative who became pregnant. She hid a positive pregnancy test in her sock drawer. According to reports, when the girl’s parents found the test and questioned their daughter she said that Larde was the father and that they had sexual intercourse about five times.
The girl’s parents called police on Tuesday and Larde was arrested later that day.
According to the Naples Daily News, Larde admitted to having sex with the girl, but said that it was “her idea.”
Incest is a third-degree felony in the state of Florida, and if convicted Larde could face a sentence of up to five years in prison and a $5,000 fine.
Florida law prohibits marriage and sexual relations between parents, offspring, brothers and sisters, aunts and uncles, and nieces and nephews. Relations between first cousins are, however, permitted.
Reports have not indicated the specific familial relationship between Larde and the female.
