Mass shooting outside Denver, Colorado killed several children at movie premiere

Mass shooting at premiere of ‘Batman: Dark Knight Rises’ last night outside Denver, Colorado.

Shortly after a much anticipated premiere of ‘Batman: The Dark Knight rises’ started in Aurora, Colorado late last night, a gunman reportedly open fired on movie-goers, causing panic and hysteria, leaving at least 10 deaths. Among those killed and injured were many children including some children who were allegedly killed at point blank range.

Several individuals were reportedly involved in the shooting with at least one male suspect in custody according to Colorado police. The gunman has been identified as 24-year-old James Holmes. Early reports indicated that Holmes was driving with Tennessee license plates. The gunman reportedly put a gas mask on shortly after the previews started (and before the movie actually started) last night, around midnight, and then proceeded to throw tear gas bombs inside the theater before opening fire.

Early reports also indicated that gang units had been called to the scene causing speculation that authorities may have originally believe the incident was gang related. Two vehicles were also identified by police in the parking lot as having “devices” which police believe belonged to the suspects.

According to Fox News, at least 30 – 40 people were injured, with at least 10 dead.
