Actor Kelsey Grammer and his wife Kayte Walsh have announced they are expecting twins later this year.
Grammer, hot off a Golden Globes win on Sunday for Best Actor in a TV Drama, announced the baby news backstage after accepting his award.
According to Access Hollywood, Grammer said, “Fatherhood’s always different, based upon the character that comes into your life. They arrive and tell you what you have to do.”
“[Kayte is] one of the most loving, amazing, warm human beings I’ve every met,” Grammer added. “She’s an amazing person and I think she’ll blow [the kids] away.”
Grammer had won the award for his role on the Starz show Boss, where he plays Tom Kane, the mayor of Chicago who is struggling to keep power after being diagnosed with a degenerative neurological disorder.
His Boss co-star, Kathleen Robertson, says she’s thrilled for Grammer and Walsh, telling People, “They’re lovely and wonderful and madly in love, and they’re going to be amazing parents. It’s great news.”
It will be baby five and six for Grammer, 56, who has had four other children with three different women, including two with his previous wife, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Camille Grammer.
It’s the first children for the 32-year-old Walsh, who had previously suffered a miscarriage in 2010.
Grammer told People that the couple is taking it easy and “waiting until it all hits.”
“We know where to find diapers and stuff. It’s easy to find cribs,” Grammer said.
