New must have trend; Hair feathers

School is back in session and as far as the female population is concerned, this season, hair feathers are the new silly bracelets. Hair stylists across the country are joining the rush to bring in the accessories. Everyone has them, from Fantastic Sam’s to trendier, mall salons.

They’re typically made from the same stuff fly fishermen use, so they can be custom cut to the length of each girl’s hair, and better, they can be washed. They generally come from roosters, but go through a sanitation process so there’s no worry about diseases or parasites from the actual birds.

And they’re not just for kids, twenty somethings are in on the trend and even high profile celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Beyonce’ Knowles and Selena Gomez have been spotted wearing them.
The feathers come in every color imaginable and can be found for as little as $8 online, salons will charge more, however they will cut and place the feathers for you as part of the price. Most are long strands, but there are many that actually look the part of a wild bird’s feather, including everything from blue jay to peacock.

Another, shinier trend popping up for hair is tinsel, it’s similar to the stuff stylists use to tie the feathers into the hair. And consumers are beginning to snatch them up just as quickly.
