A tragic accident occurred at a Victoria, Texas car wash when a toddler was run over while playing at a self-serve car wash.
Police say the toddler and his six-year-old brother had been playing Thursday afternoon while their parents cleaned their white Mitsubishi sedan. The driver of the Hummer, who had just finished vacuuming his vehicle and pulled forward, was not speeding when the toddler was hit.
“He didn’t do anything wrong. He just didn’t see the small child that had wandered away. This is an absolute unfortunate accident,” said Police Chief Bruce Ure in Friday’s online edition of the Victoria Advocate.

A baby, reportedly under the age of 1 and deeply frozen from being in the freezer for at least a year, was found in a hotel freezer in Houston, Texas.
Why did they wait so long to report it and why report it all if they seemingly were getting away with it. Perhaps an argument that prompted revenge?
MT hopes that a murder investigation will ensue.
A baby boy found dead in a southwest Houston motel freezer may have been there since May 2007, Houston police said at a Friday press conference.
Police say baby Devin was found Friday morning wearing a diaper wrapped in blankets inside a gym bag and frozen solid, police said. Detectives say Devin’s mother, Crystal Sosa, 25, and her common-law husband, Dezmond Blake, 29, had been using the refrigerator’s freezer while his body still inside.

Police are trying to figure out what went on at a home in rural Houston where they found 5 bodies, including 3 children.
Although a .22 caliber rifle was found in the lap of an adult male, whose body was found on the porch, police declined to speculate on whether this might have been a murder-suicide, saying it was still early in their investigation. Besides the gun, shell casings were found around his body, police said.
Houston police Sgt. John Chomiak said investigators believed all five people lived in the home. Neighbors said the five people were a husband, wife and their three children.
Police did not immediately release the identities of the victims.
The bodies of a woman between 20 and 30 years old and a boy thought to be about 10 were found in one part of the home, Chomiak said.
The bodies of a boy thought to be between 3 and 5 and a girl believed to be between 4 and 6 were found in another part of the home, described by authorities as a simple wooden structure that was divided in the middle by the porch. A wooden fence and large trees in the front block a view of the home from the street.

“Dude.”
“What?”
“You know what would be FREAKIN’ AWESOME? If we dug up a grave and turned the skull into a bong!”
“WHOOOOOOO!”
Three teenagers were arrested after two of them told police they dug up a secluded grave north of Houston, removed the skull from the coffin and converted it into a marijuana bong.
Police found a grave in the city of Humble that had been disturbed, but were still investigating the rest of the teens’ story, Houston police Sgt. John Chomiak said.
Kevin Wade Jones, 17, and Matthew Richard Gonzalez, 17, both of Kingwood, were arrested Wednesday night and were being held on misdemeanor charges of abuse of a corpse, Chomiak said. The juvenile was referred to the Harris County juvenile justice system.

Finally some good news to report for once. A 7-year-old from Houston, Texas was reported missing Monday evening and his family went on a frantic search. The boy showed up safe to school this morning — apparently he decided to have an impromptu sleepover at a friend’s house. We’re guessing there’s not going to be any sleepovers again any time soon, if he even gets to see past the outside of his room for putting his family through that kind of worry…
Police and volunteers had been searching for Cesar Guerra since he was reported missing Monday evening after going out to ride his bike. He had last been seen in the 11000 block of Woodshadows.
The boy’s aunt, Monica Jimenez, went to Whittier Elementary School this morning in case he showed up — and he did.

It’s certainly hard enough to deal with your mother’s death. But when it’s a senseless murder, committed while your mother was trying to protect your little sister, has to make it that much harder.
“She loved and spoiled that baby. She would have done anything for her,” a distraught Patrick Matt, 19, said on Thursday outside the family’s home in the 12600 block of Bracrest.
Tina Davila, 39, drove up to a Cricket store at 5619 Uvalde to pay a cell phone bill about 6 p.m. Wednesday when a man attacked her. Kaylynn, her 4-month-old daughter, was still in the car.
Surveillance video shows a man in a gold-colored Ford Taurus pulling up beside Davila almost immediately after she parked her Chrysler Aspen outside the northeast Harris County strip shopping center.
The video shows the man lunging for her car keys then moving back toward the Ford sedan, with Davila following after him.
“She was yelling, ‘My baby. My baby.’ That’s why she wouldn’t give up the car,” Denholm said.

Child Protective Services have been called in to investigate a 14-year-old Houston girl’s welfare, after she gave birth and allegedly tried to flush the baby down the toilet.
Police said the baby, who was born alive, drowned in the toilet.
The middle school’s principal, Gary Allen, sent a letter to parents to notify them of the incident.
“The staff closed off the restroom and kept students in class until the situation was contained, and students were then escorted to lunch,” Allen said in the statement. “I announced to students that a student had a medical issue and was receiving treatment. I assured them that everything was under control and asked them to try and remain focused on their classes.”

Not only did this young teen drive around in a car well before the legal age, it wasn’t even his parents’ car, but his girlfriend’s dad’s! We have a feeling the girl’s father might put an end to that little relationship.
Authorities say the teen took his girlfriend’s dad’s car without permission from their Montgomery County home late Monday night.
An officer spotted the vehicle a short time later and a 50-mile chase ensued, heading south on Interstate 45 near Hobby Airport before the car crashed into a concrete barrier.
An HPD spokesman at the scene said it is not known why the boy took the vehicle.
“The info we have — is a stolen car out of Willis, Texas. They were in the process of filing a stolen auto report,” said the spokesman.
Police say they were careful when following the suspect because of his age and lack of driving experience.

The family that harbors sex slaves together stays together… A mother and son in Jacinto City, Texas, near Houston, are being charged with hiding a young teenager from Mexico and farming her out as a sex slave:
Gregoria Salgada Vazquez and David Salazar have been charged with aggravated kidnapping and aggravated sexual assault of a child. The two made arrangements for a minor younger than 17 years old to be transported from Mexico to Houston, according to police.
The mother-son pair own a night club in east Houston. Salazar was scheduled to appear in court Wednesday while Vazquez is scheduled to make her first court appearance March 31.
According to Jacinto City police, Vazquez and Salazar held the young girl in a room locked with a pad lock since Jan. 1. The two would only allow the girl to leave the room if they were present.
The girl was allegedly forced to have sex with Salazar and then taken to his night club where she was forced to have sex with clients. Police say Salazar and Vazquez would take the money received by the girl.

Diana Mijares, a Houston mom, got suspicious when her normally mild-mannered 4-year-old, Megan, was suspended four times from preschool for bad behavior. So she did what any normal parent would do, and she bugged her daughter’s backpack. What she heard didn’t go over so well:
Megan Mijares’ digital tape recorded mostly mundane moments at Memorial Elementary School’s prekindergarten class, but then it captured the teacher yelling at the group of 4- and 5-year-olds. All of it happened without Megan’s or her teacher’s knowledge.
“You’re just a bad kid,” the teacher says on the six-hour tape. “You’re mean to me, so I get to be mean to you.”
The teacher, who was not identified, continues to harshly scold the children.
“You are all just stupid kids. I swear to God,” the teacher says. “You are just all stupid kids.”
Mijares said at that point the teacher was responding to a boy who was moving slowly.

A baby in Houston, Texas that was dumped in a hospital garbage can by his mother earlier this month has died. The prosecutor is not going to charge the mother with murder, as he says there was no evident “intent to kill”.
The boy, known as “David” or “Baby Granados” by hospital staff, has been brain dead from the time he was found and revived at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital on Feb. 9.
The child had been on life support since a custodian discovered him that Saturday night at Southwest Memorial Hermann Hospital. The child had no pulse.
The child’s 29-year-old mother, Genny Granados, told authorities she went to the hospital’s emergency room for a stomach ache. While she was waiting to be seen, she went into a nearby restroom and delivered the baby and said it was not breathing and she thought it was dead, police said. She left it in a trash can and returned to the emergency room waiting area.

We’ve all periodically read stories about a mom leaving her kids home alone while she goes off for the weekend with her boyfriend or whatever, but this must set some sort of record. A Houston mom apparently decided that her 16-year-old was old enough to babysit her other five children, ranging in age from 1 to 15, so she left on a little jaunt — FOR A MONTH TO NIGERIA. What, was she following up on one of those lottery winning emails?
When she left for Nigeria on Dec. 31, [Shanell Monique] Mosley told her 15-year-old daughter she would return in a month, child welfare officials said.
Prosecutor John Jordan said Mosley’s six children, now in foster homes, were starving and her older children couldn’t recall their own birth dates.
Mosley’s children are ages 1, 7, 8, 9, 15 and 16, Jordan said. The other two children found in the home were 3- and 4-year-olds the family cared for on behalf of a single father who worked, Jordan said.
The 9-year-old son told authorities he and the baby ate a still-frozen pizza for breakfast the morning they were discovered home alone. There were no diapers, baby food or formula for the infant, no sheets on beds and fruit was rotting in a basket, Jordan said.
And who was this dad that dropped his kids off at this daycare from hell? He didn’t notice something was a bit off? “Oh, well, got to go to work!”
Mosley was arrested when she returned this past Monday and charged with child endangerment and child abandonment.

A mother left behind 8 children to flee to Nigeria to marry a man she met online. When the children were found, some of them were near death…
Six children left home alone while their 33-year-old mom went to Nigeria to marry a man she met on the Internet are expected to remain in foster care until a Jan. 16 custody hearing, authorities said Friday.
Eight children — including a 3- and 4-year-old who the family watched for a working single father — were found at a roach-infested home Wednesday night with no food, money or toilet paper. The youngest, a 1-year-old boy, was dehydrated, malnourished and lost consciousness as he was being treated by emergency workers, officials said.

A couple charged with some of the most horrific abuse I have ever read about will hopefully give this boy the justice he deserves. At 13, he was locked in the attic, starved and beaten so badly he had damage to major organs. There were several other children in the family that went unharmed, at least physically. This is a glimpse into a strange phenomena in which evil bastards will single out one child to abuse.
Just horrible and so incredibly sad…
A Houston couple was charged Friday with the starvation and abuse of a 13-year-old boy they kept locked in their attic, MyFoxHouston reported.
Geneva Foster, the boy’s mother, and Michael Ryan, his stepfather, were arrested and charged with felony injury to a child for keeping the boy locked in a closet or attic without food, MyFoxHouston reported.
