A man was arrested for driving while intoxicated, and to add insult to injury, he had his infant child in the back seat at the time.
The driver, Noe L. Sarmiento of Montauk, was charged with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated, police said, after he refused a breathalyzer test.
Police said Sarmiento was charged with a misdemeanor because it was his first offense. Sarmiento also was charged with misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child.
Police said they stopped Sarmiento at 11:19 p.m. Sunday on Montauk Highway and Windmill Lane in Water Mill. They said his infant son was in the rear seat of the car.

Guess Gianna is the type of girl to kiss and tell. After she was pulled over and later slapped with a DUI, she blamed a previous kiss with a drunken boy with transferring the illegal blood alcohol level to her.
So, not only is she dumb, but apparently she thinks the rest of us are too.
Gianna Vigliotti, who was pulled over by police as she swerved in and out of her lane on Northern Boulevard in Manhasset Friday night, said that’s exactly what happened to her, according to court documents.
After the 17-year-old from Glen Cove recorded a .15 percent blood-alcohol level in a portable breath test - nearly the twice the legal limit of .08 percent - she told the officer who pulled her over, “I didn’t drink! I was kissing a boy who was drunk,” according to the police report.
It made no difference to Officer Michael Pallazzo whether Vigliotti’s speech was slurred from smooching or from swigging.

What kind of hillbilly drinks and drives a FLOAT?
MARKSVILLE, La. — A driver towing a float in a Carnival parade ran over his 16-year-old brother, killing him, state police said.
Clay Michael Sayer was standing between Kain N. Sayer’s pickup truck and the float behind it, talking to riders on the float during a brief stop around 5 p.m. Saturday, Trooper Scott Moreau said. The teen was pinned by the float when the truck started moving again, Moreau said.
Kain Sayer, 21, was booked with vehicular homicide, drunken driving and careless driving, state police said.

These teens may have saved their own lives and the life of their loser “father” by being proactive and calling the cops on his ass:
Authorities said Robert Montoya, 52, was drunk behind the wheel with three teenage girls trapped inside, two of them his daughters. One of the daughters made the frantic call to 911 as she attempted to get her dad to pull over. Dispatchers described the girls as being very frightened.

I don’t think my 9 year old even knows how to work my cell phone, but when you have a drunk as a mother, chances are children have to grow up really fast:
VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) — An 8-year-old boy riding in a car with his mom called 911 several times to report that she wasn’t “acting normal,” leading to her arrest for investigation of drunken driving and other charges, authorities said.
Paulette Lynn Spears, 33, was arrested Saturday after she drove to a fire station and said she had a medical problem.
Guided by her son’s description of what he could see from the car, as well as by global positioning technology to track the phone calls, deputies arrived at the station less than a minute later.
