Man gets twice the prison time for chemically burning toddler

Posted June 1st, 2008 by minortopics | via www.nwaonline.net

A man sentenced to 6 years in prison for using industrial strength cleaner on a toddler’s face, just wound up with an additional 6 years for missing his court date. Would he like to try for 18?

Pulaski County Circuit Judge Barry Sims said Daniel Gary Price, 40, of North Little Rock had no legitimate excuse for missing a July 20 court date. The judge found Price guilty Friday of a felony failure-to-appear charge.

The judge added six years to Price’s six-year sentence from January when a jury convicted him of second-degree battery and misdemeanor child endangerment for burning his girlfriend’s son’s face with rust remover, nail-polish remover and an industrial cleaner. Price also was fined $10,000 for those crimes.

The child, Braxton Robinson, was 21 months old at the time and suffered second-degree burns.

Jesus, there are small towns smaller than the Duggar family. Wonder what Al Gore would have to say about their carbon footprint.

Michelle Duggar, 41, is due on New Year’s Day, and the latest addition will join seven sisters and 10 brothers. There are two sets of twins.

“We’ve had three in January, three in December. Those two months are a busy time for us,” she said, laughing.

The Duggars’ oldest child, Josh, is 20, and the youngest, Jennifer, is nine months old.

The fast-growing family lives in Tontitown in northwest Arkansas in a 7,000-square-foot home. All the children — whose names start with the letter J — are home-schooled.

Day care worker charged with raping student

Posted February 13th, 2008 by minortopics | via www.4029tv.com

Jesus, where did the Royal Children’s Academy find this guy? And how did he pass a background check? And why did he have unsupervised access of the kids while they were sleeping? And…? And…? There’s just so much wrong with this screwed up situation. We guarantee a lawsuit by the parents is forthcoming…

Cesar Monarrez, 18, had worked at the Royal Children’s Academy part-time for about three or four months, officials said. According to an arrest warrant for Monarrez, the alleged victim described how he inappropriately touched her.

She told authorities that her privates were burning because “Bubba” touched her with a knife inside his pocket. Police identified Bubba as Monarrez, and investigators said closed-circuit video shows him pushing his hands beneath the girl’s waistband while she was asleep.

Monarrez has been charged with rape.

Don’t mess with this little buck

Posted December 11th, 2007 by minortopics | via www.katv.com

They start ‘em mighty young down there — learning how to shoot a gun.. For this Arkansas Kindergartener, his gun toting skills just may have saved his life.

And, what makes this story even more awesome? — This boy is a descendant of Davy Crockett. Yep, for all ya old folks out there, sing it with me, “Davy! Daaaaavy Crockett! King of the Wild Frontier!”

Dewitt - Yesterday in Arkansas County, and Arkansan killed a black bear weighing more than 400 pounds. And what really makes the story amazing is that the hunter was just a boy – a kindergarten boy.

(Tre Merritt, Five-year-old Hunter) “I was up in the stand and I seen the bear. It came from the thicket and it was beside the road and I shot it.”

Tre’s grandfather was in the stand with him at the time. He says Tre did it all by himself.

Crazy-ass kid…

ABC News reported that school officials had spotted lights coming from the bus yard Friday night, and reported the bus was stolen.
