Just before Christmas the Consumer Product Safety Commission along with Build-A-Bear, announced they were recalling over a quarter million stuffed animals. The affected ‘Colorful Hearts’ bears were sold beginning in April of 2011 through December in the United States and Canada. The stuffed animal is about 16 inches high with black plastic eyes. Wal-Mart has admitted to pulling a batch of powdered infant formula from stores across the nation after a Missouri newborn became gravely ill with a suspected infection and died. Front Row Produce of St. Louis is recalling grape tomatoes after random testing revealed the presence of salmonella. Ocean Spray has initiated a voluntary recall of various packages of its Craisins as a “precautionary measure”, due to tiny metal strands found in the product. U.S. Food and Drug Administration says that the Wegmans supermarket chain is recalling 5,000 pounds of pine nuts from Turkey due to possible salmonella contamination. Kraft Foods Inc. has issued a recall for several types of its Velveeta Shells & Cheese single-serve microwaveable cups. True Leaf Farms is recalling 90 cartons of chopped romaine lettuce. The California-based company fears the lettuce may be contaminated with listeria, though there have been no related illnesses reported. Little Tikes recalled 1.7 million toy workshops and toy tools sets today because of possible choking hazards. On Wednesday, Target announced they will expand the recall to 375,000 Circo child booster seats following reports of more injuries from children falling.
