A child recovered from a drug house in Wisconsin was first believed to be missing Las Vegas girl Everlyse Cabrera, but now authorities aren’t so sure.
Instead, Green Bay, Wis., police now believe the girl might be the child of a former inmate at a North Las Vegas women’s prison, one who gave birth in 2005 and surrendered the infant to relatives.
“Our preliminary investigation and our continuing investigation has led us to believe that she is not (Everlyse Cabrera),” Green Bay police Capt. Karl Fleury said. “But we can’t say that with 100 percent certainty until the DNA evidence comes back.”
DNA samples from the Wisconsin girl and from Everlyse are being tested, but police say it could take months to get the results.

Tionda Bradley, who disappeared with her sister Diamond in 2001, has turned up in an unexpected place — the internet.
According to a high-profile forensic artist who analyzed photos of a young Tionda — 10 when she disappeared; her sister was 3 — next to photos of a girl whose picture was part of a profile for a social networking Web site, the photos match.
“I took a hard look at them [the photos] for the first time [this week], and I do not say this lightly, but it’s her,” said Lois Gibson, a forensic artist with the Houston Police Department.
Gibson has been called on to assist authorities around the country, including DuPage County, where she drew a picture of a little boy found dead in 2005. He remains unidentified.

Philadelphia police made a gruesome discovery, and they think it might solve the case of a baby that went missing in Baltimore two years ago.
Several weeks ago, Baltimore police received a tip alleging that an 18-month-old child had been killed in the city and taken elsewhere, police said. A follow-up investigation led police to Philadelphia.
Detectives with the Philadelphia and Baltimore police departments searched a rowhouse in the southern part of the city and found what could be human remains in a suitcase, according to Sterling Clifford, a Baltimore police spokesman.
Clifford said police investigators were waiting for results of an autopsy to determine whether the remains are human and, if so, how the child died.
He said detectives know the identity of the child that was reportedly killed and that they are working to identify the remains that were removed from the South Philadelphia rowhouse.

Finally some good news to report for once. A 7-year-old from Houston, Texas was reported missing Monday evening and his family went on a frantic search. The boy showed up safe to school this morning — apparently he decided to have an impromptu sleepover at a friend’s house. We’re guessing there’s not going to be any sleepovers again any time soon, if he even gets to see past the outside of his room for putting his family through that kind of worry…
Police and volunteers had been searching for Cesar Guerra since he was reported missing Monday evening after going out to ride his bike. He had last been seen in the 11000 block of Woodshadows.
The boy’s aunt, Monica Jimenez, went to Whittier Elementary School this morning in case he showed up — and he did.

An Austrian woman, now 42, was found in an Austrian cellar where she had been locked up and raped over the course of 24 years. The woman was the daughter of her abuser. Seven children were fathered as a result, although other pregnancies or babies may not have survived.
This is not the first time an Austrain female was found hostage in Austria. Last year Natascha Kampusch was found after being held in a bunker for 8 years, and snatched by a pedophile. Vienna has long been a safe haven for many pedophile rings. Recent busts have exposed these rings and cracked down on this phenomenon.
Police in Austria have freed a woman who was allegedly locked in an underground dungeon and abused by her father for 24 years.
The woman, named as Elisabeth Fritzl, 42, is believed to have been sexually abused and beaten by her father, 73, since 1984, as he kept her hostage in a cellar beneath his house in a village near the town of Amstetten in Lower Austria.
Police suspect that the man - who has not been named for legal reasons - fathered his daughter’s four children, the oldest of whom is 19.

The missing children of the Chicago woman found dead in her apartment last week have been spotted at a store in Arkansas with their father. But unfortunately they were not stopped, and police think the group has probably already made their way to Mexico. So yeah, good luck getting them back now.
“I believe they are being taken care of,” [Chicago Police Area 5 Cmdr. Joseph] Salemme said of the minors.
A no-bond arrest warrant has been issued for Casanova for child abduction. No other charges have been filed against him, police said.
Garcia, 30, was found murdered in her home Monday. Police said they think Casanova picked up the children after classes at Yates Elementary, even though an order of protection barred him from entering the school.
Casanova is driving a 2002 silver gray Dodge Dakota, possibly with Illinois license plate 86196H, Salemme said.

A mother who went missing last week was found dead in her Chicago home yesterday — a victim of a suspected homicide. Her three young children are still missing and an Amber alert has been issued as the family suspects another family member of taking them.
MT hopes that these children are found quickly and safe.
The woman, identified as Sophia Garcia, 30, was found dead at about noon, with a plastic bag over her head in the 1700 block of North Harding Avenue, officials said. Public records identify the woman as Sofia Garcia.
“The family hadn’t heard from [the mother or her children], so they found her at the home and called police,” said Chicago Police Officer JoAnn Taylor.
She said the mother’s death is being investigated as a homicide.
An Amber Alert was issued Monday for her three children, according to Illinois State Police.
Fernando Casanova, 11, Karla Casanova, 7, and Oscar Casanova, 6, were apparently last seen when released from Yates Elementary School, 1839 N. Richmond St., at about 2:30 p.m. Friday, police said.

As many of these stories have rather unpleasant endings, this is a relief. Billie McGee, a 12-year-old from San Francisco reported missing last Monday turned up safe in Oakland, California.
Police said that Wednesday night someone recognized the girl, who had apparently been staying in Oakland with a teenage friend, and told her to call her mother.
Her mother picked up Billie around midnight and the two returned to San Francisco, where the girl met with police investigators, said police spokesman Sgt. Steve Mannina. They determined that the girl had left of her own accord and that no crime had been committed, Mannina said.

Billie McGee, a 12-year-old girl from San Francisco went missing on Monday, when she told her mother she was taking the bus to school and never arrived at her destination.
On Tuesday, San Francisco police Sgt. Steve Mannina said investigators are treating the disappearance as a missing persons case.
“No one’s heard from her,” he said.
Her mother, Tina Brown, said Billie has never run away. She fears the worst.
“Someone took her,” Brown said.
Brown worked a graveyard shift at San Francisco General Hospital on Sunday night and said she called her daughter first thing Monday morning to let her know she would be working late and could not drive her to school.
Billie agreed to catch a city bus on Geneva Avenue, as she has done before, and to head to her school near Candlestick Park on her own, her mother said.
“She was like, ‘OK, Mommy, but I gotta hurry,’ ” her mother said.

So, as it all turns out, the whole concocted story was a scam. The infant who was left in a cab was not left by her father, but rather a calculated move by the entire family to get rid of the infant.
Her mother? 14.
The Queens livery cab driver hailed as a hero for rescuing an abandoned baby was exposed as a liar today, police said.
Klever Sailema, 45, helped concoct an elaborate ruse to ditch the adorable child, who was born to a 14-year-old girl, police sources said.

MT applauds a father who opened up a can of whoop ass when his 4 year old daughter was abducted. As a quick thinking caregiver, he jumped in his car and went after the perpetrator in a car chase that lead him to his stopped vehicle, in which he opened the abductors car door and grabbed his preschool daughter.
Who knows what kind of torture this little girl would have endured at the hands of a man that would have most likely raped her and who knows what else??
One person called 911 while the other found the little girl’s father.
Pedro Ramirez, victims father, ” I didn’t see the car. I didn’t see it because because the neighbors came and called me and then I took my car out and went after him.”
Ramirez and a neighbor chased the car to Stiern Park nearby where he was able to grab his daughter out of the car.
The suspect managed to get away.
But officers swarmed the neighborhood and thanks to another 911 call, they found him hiding under a pickup truck.

The parents of Jessica Lunsford, a 9-year-old girl who was raped, tortured, and buried alive in 2005, are suing the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, and the Citrus County Board of County Commissioners claiming negligence in the investigation into the disappearance of their daughter, and they have reason to believe that the alleged mistakes led to the girl’s death.
The sheriff’s office said Thursday morning that the department has received notice of the lawsuit from Mark Lunsford and Angela Wright, who are Jessica’s parents.
Jessica Lunsford was kidnapped and murdered by John Couey in 2005. It took investigators nearly a month to find Jessica’s body. Couey was convicted of the crime last year, and a jury sentenced him to death.
At a news conference just before Lunsford’s, Citrus County Sheriff Jeff Dawsy said he was surprised by the lawsuit.
“I was surprised and disappointed,” he said. “We truly believe that this litigation is baseless.

A Georgia man who is a convicted child molester took his 4 year old daughter without permission as he does not have custody of the little girl.
Minor Topics is thinking this might not turn out well. The child molester is wanted for bond violation. There is nothing good that happen with him having unfettered access to a small child. I can only imagine the kind of abuse he will likely inflict upon her.
She needs to be found.
