Police say they have successfully located the mother of a 5-year-old boy, who walked into a Schnucks grocery store in St. Louis, Missouri, around 11:15 pm on Thursday night.
On Friday, the boy was reunited with his mother.
Schnucks employees called the police after the youngster showed up, along with his dog, at the grocery store. A security guard noticed the boy and his dog going in and out of the store’s entrance. The boy told Schnucks employees his name was Noah and his dog’s name, King. He said he and his dog were hungry and looking for food.
Employees of the store fed the boy and his dog before police took custody of the tot. The boy had walked to store in the rain and was reportedly cold and wet. He was unable to give police his last name or tell police where he lived.
Police were able to locate Noah’s mother when she called police at 6:30 am Friday morning, reporting her child missing. The family lives only blocks away from the grocery store.
According to the St. Louis Dispatch, the mother said she was asleep when the youngster sneaked out of the house, so she was unaware he was gone.
