A 6-year-old Pittsburgh, Pa. girl crashed her mother’s car into a utility pole on Sunday morning when she took off in the family car to go visit her dad.
The youngster was trying to get to her father across town when she hit two parked vehicles and wound up stopping after she hit a utility pole around 9 a.m. on Sunday morning. According to the Associated Press, the girl’s mother was asleep when the girl decided to take matters in to her own hands.
Police are amazed that the girl knew enough of how to operate the vehicle to get as far as she did. Police Sgt. Jerry Parker said that the girl was tall for her age, but was still confused by her abilities beyond her years. Parker said “your guess is as good as mine.”
The girl’s father was called and came to the scene of the accident to take custody of the girl. Police have not said whether they will file charges.
