A high school prom invitation led to a two hour trip to emergency for one Lyons, IL High School senior.

In an extremely public proposal the young man pulled in front of the school in a red double-decker bus with a banner cross its side that read “TESS PROM?.”

Students watched and waited for his girlfriend, Tess, to come out after school. The senior wrote that “She was reluctant to come aboard,” but after a rendition of “Danke Schoen” and a little prompting she finally did climb on board. Where she agreed to the accompany him to the prom.

The high school senior has posted photos of the event on Flick and within hours his online gallery went viral.

However not all ended well with this outrageous proposal. The final photo shows the young man with scratches and bruises covering his face and neck.

According to the senior “ “..aaaaaaaaand on the way home I stood up and proceeded to be smacked by a tree. I spent 2 hours in the ER getting my neck glued together. “
He leaves us all with this valuable piece of information, “Don’t stand up on buses, yo.”
