Retired teacher admits to traveling across state lines for child sex

A retired Florida teacher has pleaded guilty to crossing state lines to meet up with children in order to have sex with them.

Dale Chisena, 60, entered the plea on Monday admitting to one count of interstate travel to engage in sex with a person under 12 years of age, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

According to police, Chisena had arranged online to travel to Kentucky to have sex with a mother and her two young daughters, ages 9 and 10. Florida Department of Law Enforcement agents were tipped off by Kentucky authorities, who had posed as the woman online.

WESH-2 News reported that Chisena had been ordered to not use the internet after being arrested for child pornography a year ago, and accused of being in possession of over a thousand “disturbing” images. Co-workers at the Lovell Elementary School where Chisena taught second grade until his previous arrest reportedly referred to him as “Dirty Dale”.

FDLE officials obtained a surveillance photo of Chisena at the Orlando Sanford International Airport carrying a Toys ‘R Us bag with toys for the girls he thought he was about to meet. Instead, he was met by officials at the other end of his trip and was arrested at the Blue Grass Airport in Lexington, Ky.

Jack Massey, chair of the FDLE, reportedly said Chisnea’s conversation with the online undercover agent included mention of involving dogs in the illicit tryst.

Chisnea is currently scheduled to be sentenced on June 14.
