Mother charged with “depraved heart murder”

A 31-year-old woman in Fulton, Mississippi has been charged with “depraved heart murder” in the death of her newborn son. Apparently “depraved heart murder” in Mississippi is when an act of “reckless disregard for the safety of others” results in death. Certainly a more poetic charge than “reckless homicide”.

“Every lead we had led us back to that house on Rich Drive where the child was found,” said Dickinson. “We still have a lot to investigate in this case, but we feel we have the right person in custody.”

The body of the infant boy was discovered Monday night by [Kristi Dawn] Sansone’s live-in boyfriend, according to Dickinson. It was found in a five-gallon bucket inside a 55-gallon drum sitting in the driveway near the entrance to the home. A woman who was at the home when the body was discovered notified authorities.

It’s unclear when the child was born or when it died. An autopsy report is expected to provide those details, but Dickinson believes the child was born sometime in March at the home.

    does anyone else besides me think there is no way she could have done all of this without any help? I have a hard time believing a 31 yr old mother of two would do this. (saw somewhere else she has two other children)

    I dont believe she did this, I have known the Sansone family for many years and watched Kristi practicaly grow up. I dont see this as part of her character. At worst case, the kid was not alive but stillborn and she paniced. This is bad but, Kristi is not a murderer and her heart is not depraved in any since of the word. My heart and prayers goes out to Kristi and her entire family.

    Why would someone defending this mother refer to a newborn infant as a “kid” rather than baby or infant. I’ve never seen anyone do that. He must be as calloused toward newborn infants as the mother who murdered it was. No caring parent could toss their defenseless child into the trash even if it wasn’t breathing. You would call 911 and try to help the baby be resuscitated.

    First of all for you who don’t know her, don’t put your two sense into it. we don’t need it. and yes she does have two beautiful daughthers, who she loves very much, that happen to be my cousins. krisit is not a murderer in any since. and i agree with greg. thanks have wonderful life and mind yalls own business. :)

    I agree with randi. Kristi is not a murderer in any way! She is a very very sweet women, who loves her two kids. I love her and her whole family. So, stop wasting your time commenting on this when you don’t know her or the whole entire story. Go focus on your life, and no someone else. Good day.

    What is wrong with her. She is a sicko. She through a baby in the trash. She deserves to not only be sent to jail but she should be put to death. This woman is sick. If you people are taking her side then you are disgusting. This is repulsive.
