A 17-year-old boy was shot and killed in Houston on Thursday after he caught the teen in his 16-year-old daughter’s bedroom.
According to Your Houston News, the teen was found around 2 AM, hiding underneath his teenage daughter’s bed. The girl’s father reportedly entered the girl’s room upon hearing noises.
Police are still investigating but early reports suggest the girl’s 55-year-old father and the teen boy got into an argument and a scuffle after he found him in his daughter’s bedroom. The father reportedly said that he saw the boy reach for something and thought it was a gun. The armed father then shot the boy, who was found by police, lying on a bedroom floor and bleeding from a gunshot wound. The boy was pronounced dead at the scene.
Preliminary reports also suggest that the daughter told her father that she didn’t know who the boy was, but later confessed that she knew him. This information has not been verified however.
Harris County police said they had the father in custody, but were forced to divert to a local hospital because the alleged suspect was experiencing symptoms of a panic attack.
Police plan on submitting their finding to a grand jury once they finish up their investigation.
