Alec Baldwin, 54, and his new bride, 28-year-old, Halaria Baldwin, have announced on Tuesday that they are expecting their first child together.
Baldwin married Hilaria, a yoga-instructor in June 2012. This will be Hilaria’s first child and Baldwin’s second. Baldwin has a 17-year-old daughter, Ireland, with former wife and actress Kim Basinger.
Baldwin and Hilaria reportedly met when Baldwin hired her as his yoga instructor.
Baldwin told Us Magazine of the pending bundle of joy, “It really is the most amazing thing. I’m lucky.”
Hilaria told Extra that the pregnancy was “a surprise, a wonderful surprise.”
Last year, Baldwin told Piers Morgan that he wanted more children, saying, “Have I thought about having more kids? Oh sure, that would be great, that would be heaven, that would be fantastic.”
Baldwin went on to tell a joke about becoming a father again in his fifties:
“As my friend said to me, ‘When you have children, typically in a second marriage, when you’re older and you get married again to a woman who would have children, you must always remember that you make sure [the children] attend a college where the commencement ceremonies are held in a facility with a wheelchair accessible ramp.”
