A Placer County teacher from Granite Bay, Calif. was arrested and accused of having a sexual relationship with a student.

Jennifer Lynn Woods, 35, was booked into the Placer County Jail and charged with underage sex and oral copulation with a minor.

Woods and the student met two years ago when she was his teacher.  He had transferred to another school when they were allegedly involved in the relationship.  The relationship lasted for one year while the student was 16 and 17-years-old.

According to a Placer County Sheriff’s Department news release, the Placer County Office of Education received information that Woods and the student may be having an inappropriate relationship, and contacted the Sheriff’s Department.

Woods bailed out of jail the same day she was arrested.  Her bail was set for $100,000.  Her first scheduled court appearance is set for Feb. 4.  Woods is listed on the Placer County Office of Education’s website as an employee of the district’s Emotionally Disturbed Program.
