Two Rancho Cordova, Calif. men were arrested Tuesday after using a baby and baby stroller to shoplift items from a CVS Pharmacy.
Danny Williams, 26, the father of the baby, and his friend, Deaire Jeffries, 31, pushed Williams’ daughter in her baby stroller throughout the store while hiding items in the stroller. Before leaving the store, one of the men paid for an item.
CVS employees called the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department to report that men were pushing a baby stroller and stealing store merchandise. As the deputies were responding, they found the men walking away from the store. CVS employees positively identified the suspects. Deputies searched the stroller and found DVD movies and alcohol concealed in the stroller.
Williams and Jeffries were arrested and booked in the Sacramento County Main Jail. They are charged with burglary and child endangerment. Williams is also booked with a parole violation. Williams’ child was taken into protective custody.
Williams pleaded no contest to petty theft on Thursday and was sentenced to 10 days in jail.
