A Florida woman who was riding a scooter while eight months pregnant, died on Wednesday night after she lost control of the scooter.
Shaneice S. Porter, 18, hit a curb while driving the scooter at 11 PM EST. She was not wearing a helmet.
A police report stated that when Shaneice hit the curb, she was thrown from the scooter, causing her to fly into a stop sign at full impact. The scooter reportedly continued to roll down the street before toppling over.
Porter was taken to Blake Medical Center, however trauma staff were unable to save her and her unborn baby. Both the unborn baby and Porter died from the impact.
According to Porter’s Facebook page, she was a graduate of Bayshore High School in Bardenton, Florida. She was engaged and worked as a cashier at a Michaels Arts & Crafts store.
