Megan Fox wanted a natural birth but couldn’t take the pain. Fox told Access Hollywood during a press junket on on Tuesday that she wanted to be strong and brave through her contractions, but says they were just too intense, so she caved.

“It hurts so bad. It was so intense,” Fox, 26, explained on her promotional tour for her upcoming movie “This is 40.”

“I was screaming for an epidural when [Brian Austin Green] was driving me to the hospital because my water broke on its own and I was immediately — it was level orange alert pain,” Fox told Shaun Robinson of Access Hollywood.

Fox says the first contraction she got “was horrific”. She had planned to labor through it, but was apparently taken off guard by the intensity of the pain.

Fox and husband, Brian Austin Green, 39, announced the birth of their son, Noah Shannon Green, on Sept. 27, 2012.

Fox calls motherhood “overwhelming and amazing.”

Fox’s new movie “This is 40”, also staring Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann, is scheduled for release on Dec. 21.
