Drew Barrymore, 37 and her art dealer husband Will Kopelman, 35, had their first child together, a daughter named Olive, whom Barrymore gave birth to on September 26 in Los Angeles.
Us Weekly reports that an insider previously told them that Barrymore and Kopelman had been trying to get pregnant and when it happened in January 2012, the couple were elated. The insider said that Barrymore wanted her next chapter in life to be that of “mom” and rushed to get married after the pregnancy news.
The couple released a joint statement today which read:
“We are proud to announce the birth of our daughter, Olive Barrymore Kopelman, born September 26th, healthy, happy and welcomed by the whole family. Thank you for respecting our privacy during this most special time in our lives.”
Barrymore had a theatrical movie release earlier this year called Big Miracle which got released to fairly mediocre reviews. Barrymore has also kept busy over the last few years doing voice over work as Jilliam Russell and Mrs. Lockhart in the Family Guy.
Barrymore told Leno earlier this year that she would love to have multiple children.
