The mother of 2 1/2-year-old Devon Davis, a Cleveland, Texas toddler who went missing yesterday afternoon, says she woke up from a nap to find him gone. Devon’s mother said she woke up around 3:30 pm from a nap and went looking for Devon but he was nowhere to be found. She says she napped while Devon and his sibling napped. Authorities fear the youngster may have wondered off. The family’s home is located in Sam Houston Lake Estates which is surrounded by a large wooded area with many waterways. While police believe the boy wandered away, they said it’s too early to rule out a a possible abduction, although they think it’s unlikely.

Scaled back search and rescue teams continued to search all night for the toddler but were unsuccessful in locating him. This morning, a fully staffed rescue team resumed their extensive search in rivers and lakes.

An Amber Alert has been issued. Devon was last seen wearing Spiderman gym shoes, a red and gray t-shirt and jeans. He is about 2′ 6″ and weighs approximately 40 lbs. He has bright auburn hair and blue eyes. Anybody with any information on his whereabouts is urged to call the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office at 936-336-4500, ext. 0.
