An Illinois Little League baseball coach, Brian Jones, collapsed and died on the field while his son and his teammates looked on.
Jones, 43, was coaching his team, the Beecher Hot Rods, Wednesday night when he suddenly got sick. He told his wife Bobbie Jones, that he felt like he was going to pass out, then he fell on top of her. The Cook County medical examiner’s office reported that the coach died from cardiovascular disease.
Jones’ son, Ryan, was one of the players on the field when his father collapsed. Ryan says his dad had told him earlier, ‘Don’t wind up when you’re throwing it to first base — and just have fun.”
Four of Brian Jones’ organs have been donated.
