Baby found alive after being sucked up by tornado

Posted February 7th, 2008 by minortopics

A miracle?

How else do you explain why an 11 month old baby was picked up and thrown by a tornado, surviving, while his 24 year old mother perished?

CASTALIAN SPRINGS, Tenn. — The muddy field was littered with debris after a wave of violent storms: Living room couches, strollers, children’s toys. So when two rescuers came upon a baby, they thought he was a doll.

Then he moved.

“We grabbed hold of his neck (to take a pulse) and he took a breath of air and started crying,” said David Harmon, a firefighter from a nearby county who was combing the field for tornado victims.

The boy was found at least 100 yards away from where his family’s house had been, possibly lifted by the storm’s fierce winds, according to witnesses at the scene on Thursday. There was no trace of exactly where the house stood. His mother, who did not survive, was found in the same field.

A stray bullet hit an 11 year old girl in Tennessee, out of nowhere, while she was horseback riding.

Scary!

LEBANON, Tenn. — A day of horseback riding turned painful for a local girl when she was hit by a bullet.

Allie Nadeau, 11, is alive, but her mother said she is angry and determined the same thing won’t happen again to her daughter or anyone else.

Tonya Nadeau said she got a call saying that her daughter had been shot at the neighborhood stables.

Young children left home alone perish in house fire

Posted January 3rd, 2008 by minortopics | via ap.google.com

A mother who was supposed to be enjoying her visitation with her 4 year old and 7 year old, instead decides that she’d rather go out and party on New Years Eve than be a parent and that selfish neglect and piss-poor excuse for a human being (let alone a “mother”) came home to two dead little boys, who suffered in a fire in her absence. What a POS.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — A mother whose two sons died in a fire while she was out celebrating New Year’s has been charged with criminally negligent homicide, police said.

Romello Winters, 4 and Christian Griffen, 7, appeared to have been alone in their apartment for several hours before firefighters responded to a call early New Year’s Day at the two-story wood frame building.

The blaze was brought under control in about a half-hour, and the boys died later at a hospital. The cause of the fire had not been determined.

Hannah Montana turns 15

Posted November 26th, 2007 by minortopics | via www.cnn.com

Miley Cyrus, AKA “Hannah Montana” turns 15 and the only thing she wants is family time, in Nashville. (Why do I get the feeling that wish was rehearsed by her handlers?)

NASHVILLE, Tennessee (AP) — Miley Cyrus celebrated turning 15 Friday with more than 15,000 hometown friends, who serenaded her with “Happy Birthday” toward the end of her concert, complete with pyrotechnic displays and a cake delivered onstage.

“I’ll tell you guys that my main wish when my parents asked me, ‘Miley, what do you want for your 15th birthday?’, the only thing that I had to say was, ‘I want to be here at home with Nashville and all of you guys,’ ” the star of the hit Disney TV show “Hannah Montana” told the crowd, according to People.com.
