UNICEF collaborating with Islamic charity linked to terrorists

Posted June 13th, 2008 by minortopics | via www.foxnews.com

Reports are stating that United Nations children’s charity, UNICEF, has partnered with the International Islamic Relief Organization, an Islamic charity with known ties to the Taliban and Al Qaeda.

According to UNICEF, it will be teaming with the charity’s domestic Saudi branch to “promote children’s rights, health, equality and education,” in the oil-rich kingdom — but the organization has been doing more than just charity work.

The U.S. Treasury Department has designated the IIRO’s branches in the Philippines and Indonesia as terrorist entities for funding and supporting terrorist groups that have killed hundreds in East Asia. The Philippine branch was founded by Usama bin Laden’s brother-in-law, Muhammad Jamal Khalifah, and has long had ties to Al Qaeda.

The U.N. itself says that both the Indonesian and Philippine branches of IIRO are tied to Al Qaeda and the Taliban, and has singled them out for an asset freeze, arms embargo and travel ban on members of the groups.

Surgeons unable to reattach boy’s arms

Posted April 29th, 2008 by minortopics | via www.foxnews.com

A 7-year-old Saudi Arabian boy had his arms severed in a farming accident, and unfortunately they could not be saved. The reason is that medical care where he lives is woefully inadequate.

Al-Ashdaf Muhammad Al-Sharari’s arms were severed by the irrigation machine at a farm in Al-Jouf three weeks ago. The two hospitals he stayed at near his home lacked proper facilities and specialists to treat Al-Ashdaf’s condition.

He was recently transferred to King Faisal Specialist Hospital in Riyadh where he is in stable condition.

However, surgeons at King Faisal said the inadequate medical treatment that Al-Ashdaf received right after the hospital has made it impossible for the boy to have his arms reattached because another infection would likely develop.

Saudi Arabia man beheads toddler in grocery store

Posted March 4th, 2008 by minortopics | via www.smh.com.au

JESUS CHRIST, what kind of psychopath does it take to do such a thing over an argument?

A man reportedly held a knife to the throat of his 15-month-old nephew and decapitated him in front of his mother in a Saudi Arabian supermarket.

The 25-year-old Syrian man beheaded the toddler apparently after having a dispute with the toddler’s parents, his sister and brother-in-law, Arab News reported.

Another newspaper, the Saudi Gazette, reported that the toddler was 18 months old.

The killing happened in front of shoppers and staff in the fruit and vegetable section of the Al-Marhaba supermarket yesterday morning.
