A 7-year-old boy in Austin, Texas was found unconscious hanging from a hook in his school’s bathroom. He died two days later. Authorities are attributing it to a popular game at the school called “run and jump”.

Students at the Not Your Ordinary School charter campus told police after the death of Tevin Park-Flowers that boys sometimes ran along benches lining the walls of the bathroom.

Students called the game “run and jump” because they liked to jump from bench to bench and try to touch the ceiling, according to the report released Thursday.

Tevin had been excused from a school assembly Jan. 30 to go to the bathroom. When he didn’t return, a male teacher went looking for him. He found Tevin caught on a hook by his shirt. The boy died at the hospital two days later.

AUSTIN, Texas — A 7-year-old boy is in critical condition after being found hanging by his shirt collar from a clothing hook in a charter school’s dressing room, and police tried to determine Thursday whether it was an attack or an accident.

The shirt collar cut off the boy’s oxygen, and he was unconscious when a teacher found him Wednesday, said police Lt. Mark Spangler. He was in critical condition at a hospital Thursday.
