A 3-year-old boy watched as his father killed his mother and then turned the gun on himself, deputies told KPRC Local 2.

Harris County sheriff’s deputies said the murder-suicide took place in front of a home on Duncannon Drive in the Woodforest neighborhood in northeast Harris County at about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Casey Pelfrey’s 21-year-old boyfriend showed up unexpectedly at the home where she was living with relatives, officials said.

Police were called to a home in Roselle, Illinois where the found a gruesome scene — a man, his wife, and their 7 year old son had been shot to death. Statements made by police officials seem to imply this was possibly a murder suicide.

Though police provided few details, they said the investigation is confined to the house and a killer is not believed to be at large. Police said that there were no signs of forced entry and that a handgun was found at the scene.

The woman’s mother called police about 11:45 a.m. after finding her daughter in the second-floor master bedroom of the house in the 700 block of North Woodfield Trail. The woman had gone to the home to check on her daughter after she missed a doctor’s appointment, police said.

Police are trying to figure out what went on at a home in rural Houston where they found 5 bodies, including 3 children.

Although a .22 caliber rifle was found in the lap of an adult male, whose body was found on the porch, police declined to speculate on whether this might have been a murder-suicide, saying it was still early in their investigation. Besides the gun, shell casings were found around his body, police said.

Houston police Sgt. John Chomiak said investigators believed all five people lived in the home. Neighbors said the five people were a husband, wife and their three children.

Police did not immediately release the identities of the victims.

The bodies of a woman between 20 and 30 years old and a boy thought to be about 10 were found in one part of the home, Chomiak said.

The bodies of a boy thought to be between 3 and 5 and a girl believed to be between 4 and 6 were found in another part of the home, described by authorities as a simple wooden structure that was divided in the middle by the porch. A wooden fence and large trees in the front block a view of the home from the street.

A Virginia man went on a brutal rampage and shot his girlfriend and their two children, ages 1 and 2, before turning the gun on himself.

The man, Aaron Poseidon Jackson, age 24, apparently shot the his girlfriend, Latasha Nicole Thomas, age 23, with an AK-47 type assault rifle, then he took a handgun, went to their children’s bedroom and shot both kids in the head while they lay in their cribs.

The children have been identified as Nicole Aaron Jackson, age 2 and a half years and Aaron Neptune Jackson age one and half years.

According to investigators, Latasha had called a family member two times during the day and asked to be picked up because she was being physically assaulted by the children’s father, but approximately at 9:30 pm, she called that family member back and said there was no need because “everything was ok”.

A woman in Canley Heights, Australia, tucked her two dead children into bed, then lay down next to them waiting to die herself. Her husband discovered the grizzly scene in time to call an ambulance. The woman is currently recovering in the hospital. While police have not announced an official cause of death for the children, it surely can’t be ruled out that this was possibly a murder/suicide attempt.

A neighbour of the family, who wanted to be known only as Wendy, had followed the distraught father into the house after he had pleaded with her to call an ambulance.

She said she was overcome with a “sickening sadness” when she pulled back blankets on the bed where the woman lay to reveal the children’s cold and blue bodies. Wendy said there were prescription pills and pill packets lying about the room.

“The mother had cut wounds to her arms,” she said. “The two kids were blue, they were cold. The mother was blue as well, but not as bad as the two kids.”

The children bore no obvious signs of injury, a police spokesman said.
