Madeleine McCann taken by pedophile ring?

Posted August 7th, 2008 by minortopics | via www.cnn.com

Reports are coming from British police saying they were told in March that Madeleine McCann may have been kidnapped by a pedophile ring that had stalked her for 3 days before her abduction. Far fetched?

Britain’s Daily Telegraph and The Sun newspapers both reported Thursday that an email released this week as part of the documents compiled by the Portuguese investigators probing Madeleine’s disappearance revealed the connection to the ring.

Madeleine was 3 when she disappeared May 3, 2007, while she was on holiday with her family at the Portuguese resort of Praia da Luz. Her disappearance prompted headlines worldwide.

According to the newspapers, the email was sent on March 4 by a London-based Metropolitan Police intelligence officer to Leicestershire police — Madeleine’s home county — who then forwarded it on to investigators in Portugal more than a month later.

Portuguese official: Madeleine McCann case wrapping up

Posted February 13th, 2008 by minortopics | via www.foxnews.com

So, does this mean they are close to naming a suspect (or suspects), or is the investigation into the disappearance of Madeleine McCann about to head into the cold case files?

“We are at a stage now where we are approaching the conclusion of the process,” Justice Minister Alberto Costa told a parliamentary committee hearing.

Costa said he could provide no details of the police investigation, which opened after Madeleine vanished May 3 — a few days before her 4th birthday — from a hotel room during a family vacation in Praia da Luz in Portugal’s Algarve region.

Last month, the attorney general granted detectives working on the case an extra three months to pursue their inquiries.

Police said they requested the extension because of the “unusual complexity” of the case.

Costa was questioned by lawmakers about comments by Portugal’s most senior detective who said recently that investigators acted hastily in naming the girl’s parents as suspects in her disappearance.

Madeleine McCann search continues in reservoir after tip

Posted February 6th, 2008 by minortopics | via www.foxnews.com

An “underworld” tipster pointed private investigators to a reservoir outside of where the McCann family vacationed in Portugal, claiming the little girl had been raped and murdered and dumped there.

Correia said contacts told him that the girl was raped, murdered and her body dumped within 48 hours of her disappearance, the Daily Mail reported.

The lawyer said he believed she was killed, weighted down and thrown from a pumping tower into the reservoir, the paper said.

“I am convinced this is the place. It’s not overlooked, it has easy access by car and if you threw the body from the tower the water is 55-feet deep there,” Correia told the Daily Mail. “The divers have already found a cord tied in knots down there, right below the tower. I have given it to the police.”

Six divers found an approximately 5-yard-long piece of nylon cord in their search, the Daily Mail reported.

Sketch released in Madeleine McCann abuduction

Posted January 20th, 2008 by minortopics | via www.cnn.com

A collaborative effort on the part of two eye-witnesses, who gave details about a man they claim they saw take little Maddy.

The man and his connections to several pedophile rings, with child pornography and predator reach around the world is now being investigated.

Super creepy! Let’s hope law enforcement breaks these rings wide open and that the world be a safer place. Perhaps this will spawn some additional child molestation laws in countries where their laws in that area are insufficient.

That afternoon, when Cooper’s husband went shopping, the man paid her a visit, Mitchell said. She described him as “sallow-skinned and scruffy,” and said that he claimed to be collecting money for an orphanage in a nearby village.
Subsequent investigations have shown the orphanage does not exist, Mitchell told CNN. A few days later, the man was seen with a group of children on an outing to the beach, Mitchell said.

The man spoke in broken, accented English, Mitchell said.

When Cooper returned to Britain and heard about Madeleine’s disappearance, she told British police about the man, and her account was given to police in Portugal, Mitchell told CNN.

The McCann family showed the new sketches to Jane Tanner, a family friend who earlier gave police a description of a man she spotted carrying a child from the resort on the night Madeline vanished. Tanner told them the new sketches resemble the man she saw, Mitchell said.

5 year old disappears close to where Madeleine McCann went missing

Posted January 16th, 2008 by minortopics | via www.foxnews.com

A 5-year-old girl went missing when she went to a local store to buy crisps.

What makes this all the more eerie, the place of her disappearance was just 2 hours outside the Praia da Luz resort where Madeleine McCann went missing.

Could there be a link??

A 5-year-old girl disappeared in an area searched as part of the hunt for Madeleine McCann.

The family of Spanish Mari Luz Cortes fear she has been snatched.

Her father, Juan Jose, broke down in tears and said: “Whoever has her, bring her back and everything will be okay.”

The area in Huelva, Spain, which borders Portugal, has been searched by 100 police officers and 500 volunteers.

Search teams are also hunting on the Portuguese side of the border.

Mari Luz went out to buy a packet of crisps from a local shop on Sunday afternoon.

She was last seen by the shopkeeper at around 5pm.

Casting a cloud of suspicion once again on the McCanns

Posted January 9th, 2008 by minortopics | via www.foxnews.com

New evidence concludes that blood in the McCanns apartment and car is that of missing toddler, Madeleine McCann.

Blood found in a car hired by her parents weeks after she disappeared definitely came from the British girl, it was reported yesterday.

The Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manha cited police sources as saying new tests on blood found in the hire car conclusively showed it was Madeleine’s.

“The definitive result of the tests leave no doubts for the Policia Judiciaria. The blood found in the McCanns’ car is that of Madeleine as well as those samples detected in the flat,” the paper said.

Detectives claim they know where Madeleine McCann is…

Posted December 13th, 2007 by minortopics | via www.dailymail.co.uk

…and that she’ll be home by Christmas.

If this is true, doesn’t this seem incredibly irresponsible to go public with this information? If it is true, and it seems unlikely, wouldn’t the claim drive the kidnappers further underground or try to get rid of the evidence, namely Madeleine.

It just keeps getting stranger and stranger…

The private investigator hired by Kate and Gerry McCann to find their daughter said today he knows who took Madeleine and is close to reuniting her with her parents.

Francisco Marco said the missing four-year-old has been kidnapped by a paedophile ring and is being held in north Africa or the Iberian Peninsula.

In his boldest claim yet, the director general of Metodo 3 also said he hoped the McCanns will have their daughter back by Christmas.

Another theory about what happened to Madeleine McCann

Posted November 26th, 2007 by minortopics | via www.dailymail.co.uk

The case of missing toddler Madeleine MCann has produced a roller coaster of theories, but none have been conclusive. The latest theory suggests Maddy was suffocated by a pedophile. In a way, perhaps there may be a silver lining, if she was killed before she was could have been potentially used as a toddler sex slave. (I’m not advocating for her being murdered, only if she was put out of her potential misery.)

Detectives are on the verge of concluding Madeleine McCann was killed by a paedophile intruder who panicked and suffocated her when she screamed.

Portuguese police are thought to be considering absolving her parents of any blame and pinning her death on a mystery man seen running from their holiday flat with a child in a blanket.

Could Madeleine McCann still be alive?

Posted November 18th, 2007 by minortopics | via www.foxnews.com

Please, let it be true!…the whole world and Maddy’s parents so desperately want this to be true.

Portuguese investigators are “100 percent sure” missing toddler Madeleine McCann is alive, Britain’s Sunday Mirror reports.

Francisco Marco, a private eye hired by the McCann family to track the missing girl - who would be 4 years old if she’s still alive - told The Mirror he is “sure she was abducted.”
“We are very, very close to finding the kidnapper,” he said.

A Portuguese tipster told the PI that she saw Madeleine inside a van with a woman two days after she went missing.

The tipster then identified the woman from the van in photographs shown to her by detectives.

Galveston toddler washed ashore is not Madeleine McCann

Posted November 4th, 2007 by minortopics | via www.foxnews.com

Police try to find out if toddler is that of a known, missing person:

HOUSTON — The body of a young girl that washed ashore in a storage box on Galveston Bay, Texas last week could have come from anywhere, police said Sunday, and has actually been ruled out as being that of missing British toddler Madeleine McCann.

“We’re confident it’s not her,” Galveston County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Maj. Ray Tuttoilmondo told FOX News.

The Gulf Intercoastal Waterway, where the box containing the body was found, is a major commercial port, and Galveston a popular tourist destination with a transient population, Tuttoilmondo said. Unclaimed and unidentified in Galveston, “Baby Grace,” as police have named her, could be very far from home. Her identity is considered a global mystery.

Madeleine’s father blasts sleeping pill allegations

Posted September 14th, 2007 by minortopics | via afp.google.com

The plot thickens in the case of the Madeleine McCann mystery. The over-medicating of the child theory does seem plausible given that we’re talking about parents that went out to dinner and left their children at home. How could they make certain the children wouldn’t wake up and get spooked?

Parents who would think it was okay to leave toddlers and babies home alone while they go partying, could very well lack judgement in other areas. At the very least, it’s stupid and incredibly selfish. What else could these parents be capable of, simply knowing that they discarded their own children’s safety in lieu of having a good time?

LONDON (AFP) — The father of missing toddler Madeleine McCann labelled as “ludicrous” allegations in some newspapers that his daughter died of a sleeping pill overdose, in comments reported Friday.

Several newspapers quoted a Portuguese prosecutor’s report as alleging that body fluids found in the boot of a hire car “prove that the little girl had ingested medicines, without doubt sleeping pills, in large quantities.”
