Indiana mom charged with neglect
Posted February 11th, 2008 by minortopics | via www.theindychannel.com“Neglect” seems like a light charge for a mom who would cover up her boyfriend’s horrific abuse of her infant, but we guess we’ll have to take what we can get:
Prosecutors said [Krystal A. Pollitt’s live-in boyfriend, Jeremiah A. Hoots] beat Kaitlynne [Pollitt] on Dec. 17. The girl died a few days later.
An autopsy found the girl had two skull fractures, bleeding in the brain and a broken neck. Hoots told investigators that the girl was hurt while wresting with her brothers.
One of the victim’s two young brothers told investigators Hoots had tried to persuade him to take the blame for the girl’s injuries.
