Proof that even gifted kids do dumb things.
A 10-year-old boy attending an academic enrichment camp at Hagerstown Community College was injured when he stuck a paper clip into a live electrical socket, The Herald-Mail in Hagerstown reported.
State police say the student at the College for Kids program was flown to Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. yesterday with burned hands.

What kind of parent leaves their baby in a freezing car — wet, cold and scared — so they can shop by themselves?…One that ought to be IN JAIL!!! (And what is with this baby’s clothes being soaking wet in almost freezing temperatures (even aside from him being completely alone and locked up where he could easily die)? Can you say child abuse???)
The car was not running and police said the toddler was crying when they found him.
Investigators found the boy around 2:45 a.m. Friday. Police said there was no heat in the car and estimated it to be about 36 degrees at the time.
Jason Litten from the Washington County Sheriff’s office said, “The child was found just wearing a T-shirt, blue jeans and no shoes, soaking wet. It was quite cold in the vehicle. He was shivering and quite scared.”
