A 14-year-old Dallas boy is facing charges for driving off with his mom’s car — with her in it — and refusing to let her exit. He then led police on a car chase throughout Dallas and Fort Worth before finally being stopped. That’s a kid with some angst!
Police said the teen had threatened to kill his mother and drove for about an hour around the western part of Dallas before heading west on Interstate 30 and into Fort Worth. Police there used special sticks to puncture his tires as he entered Fort Worth and was forced to stop.
During the chase, the boy tried to cause a crash with a police vehicle by slamming on his brakes and he also rammed at least one police vehicle by backing into it, Dallas police said.

Three siblings, while riding in the back seat of their mother’s Mercedes, were struck by random gun fire early Wednesday morning.
A 10-year-old boy and his 4-year-old sister were in stable condition Wednesday morning at Children’s Medical Center of Dallas, police spokesman Cpl. Gerardo Monreal said. Their 12-year-old sister was in critical condition at the same hospital, although her injuries were not considered life-threatening, Monreal said.
The shooting happened around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday. The three injured children were among five siblings riding in the back seat of their mother’s four-door Mercedes sedan. The mother was behind the wheel with an adult daughter riding in the passenger seat, police said.
Another relative was following them in a separate car when the shooter began firing into the passenger side of the Mercedes, hitting three of the children. The mother transferred the three injured children to the relative’s car, and that relative drove to the hospital, police said.
The interesting question to us is, where were they going at 1:30 in the morning?

We’re guessing this kid isn’t the high school valedictorian.
A teenager is suspected of delivering baskets of drug-laced treats to about a dozen police departments in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, according to police who charged him Tuesday with LSD possession. At least three officers have gotten sick.
The 18-year-old man was arrested after taking cookies to the Lake Worth police station, said Brett McGuire, the suburb’s police chief. Officers there had been tipped off that someone was falsely claiming to deliver treats on behalf of Mothers Against Drunk Driving.
“Our officers took a good whiff and thought they smelled like marijuana,” McGuire said, adding that preliminary tests instead detected traces of LSD.

Last week we had a teacher smoking pot at school, now we have one getting hammered.
A substitute middle school teacher suspected of being drunk in class was too intoxicated to complete a sobriety test and was arrested, authorities said.
Thomas Brownlee, 56, was in a classroom Tuesday with students and another staff member for about 20 minutes, Richardson school district spokesman Tim Clark said. Another teacher suspected Brownlee was drunk and told a campus police officer.
A Dallas police report states that Brownlee “had slurred speech, breath smelling of an alcoholic beverage and bloodshot eyes.”
The officer stopped issuing a sobriety test out of concern for Brownlee’s safety, according to the report.

A Dallas woman has been accused of grooming her daughter from the age of 12 to be a professional dominatrix, selling her services on the web since she was 14. And no, it’s not our very own Mominatrix, who endorses sex acts between consenting adults only!
The 44-year-old mother, whose name is not being published to protect the identity of her daughter, was arrested Friday. Also charged is Todd B. Barkau, 35, of New York state, who authorities say started advertising the girl on the Internet as a 19- to 20-year-old dominatrix when she was 14.
The mother is accused of encouraging and participating in the venture to exploit the girl, who is now 20.
Mr. Barkau and the mother once lived together in Blue Springs, Mo., where the business was allegedly run.

Anyone who has lived on Chicago’s north side know the ruthlessness of the tow truck drivers there. Seriously, if you park somewhere you are not supposed to you can walk five feet away, realize you forgot something in the car, turn around and it will already be gone. Looks like Dallas is just as bad:
Melissa Jio left her 7-year-old son in the car for just a minute as she ran upstairs to her apartment Monday night, she said. He was splayed across the back seat asleep.
As she descended the stairs, she realized her silver four-door Saturn was no longer there.
“My baby is gone! I’ve lost my baby!” she screamed, thinking a thief had stolen the car with her son in it.
But it wasn’t stolen; it had been towed.
A few minutes later – as police were investigating what they thought could be a kidnapping and as Ms. Jio remained in hysterics – another strange thing happened. The tow truck driver returned to the parking lot with the car and the still-sleeping boy, unhooked his load in a hurry and sped away.

You know what might hurt your chance for winning public office more than some crazy talk from your pastor? Being a registered sex offender. But that’s not stopping James Brian Sliter, 42, who was arrested for soliciting sex from a 15-year-old — he’s running for mayor of Wilmer, Texas. We can see the mailer design of his opponent already.
[Sliter] said he is sorry and needs to prove he can be an asset to his suburban Dallas community.
“People need to realize that people make mistakes, and they need to look past those mistakes and forgive and move on,” Sliter told Dallas television station KTVT. “I’m not asking anybody to condone what I did.”
Sliter was charged with attempting to commit sexual assault of a child and was placed on 10 years probation, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
He is eligible to run for office because he was never convicted, instead receiving deferred adjudication.

We had a near “falling television” incident in our house way back when, so we know the inherent dangers. Also, we would think those plasma and LCD TVs that are mounted on a stand instead of the wall might be top heavy and particularly susceptible to tipping over if pulled by little hands.
A 2-year-old girl was severely injured Sunday afternoon when a television fell off its stand and struck her upper body and head, the Cedar Hill Fire Department said.
The child was alone in a bedroom when the incident occurred about 12:45 p.m. in the 300 block of Taurus Drive, police said. Officers were told she was unconscious and bleeding from the mouth and the nose.
Paramedics transported her by Careflite to Children’s Medical Center Dallas where treatment was begun for a fractured skull and swelling to the brain.
The child’s father and four brothers were home at the time of the accident. It is unknown how the TV fell on the girl.
In September, a 7-year-old Plano girl died after a large television set fell on her.

Police in Dallas, Texas are waiting for autopsy results from an infant who died while at a home day care, in order to decide if charges are warranted. There were no signs of trauma on the baby.
A caretaker working at the center in the 3700 block of Juniper Drive put Ryane Rush to sleep on Wednesday afternoon. When the caretaker returned around 4:30 p.m., she found the child had turned purple and was not breathing. The baby was transported to RHD Medical Center in Farmer’s Branch, where she was pronounced dead, Sgt. Gil Cerda said.
Sgt. Cerda said the tests could take a few days or weeks, depending on whether the medical examiner decides that toxicology screenings are required.

Ouch.
A Dallas man already in jail is facing child abuse charges in Caldwell County, where investigators say he circumcised his two infant sons with a utility knife.
Johnny Eric Marlowe, 32, lived in the rural Kings Creek community with his legal wife, Amber Marlowe, and a second woman, Sarah Fleming, from mid-2005 to mid-2006, authorities said.
He has fathered 11 children between the two, Caldwell County Sheriff’s Detective Shelly Hartley said.

I had to do a double take when I read this, did this happen in the United States of America or Afganistan???
Lutz said she was sitting in the back of the bus, but wasn’t being disruptive. She claimed she was stunned when the bus driver interrupted her reading.
“She asked me to stop reading my Bible,” Lutz told FOX 4. “I said, ‘No, I’m reading the Bible, I’m teaching the kids, I’m going to continue.’ And I continued.”
Lutz said the next thing she knew, the bus had pulled over and she was being escorted into a supervisor’s van, which then took her and her family to church.
