Child porn smack-down

Posted July 12th, 2008 by minortopics | via www.bizjournals.com

Several large ISP’s (Internet service providers) are cracking down on child porn and will have strict policies going forward, scrubbing child porn sites off their servers.

Unfortunately, we know that many of these sites are currently and will ultimately move to off shore ISP’s, but this zero tolerance for child exploitation and abuse must start with the most educated of societies who actually care about their children in effort to set an example to the entire world - we won’t have it!!!

AT&T Inc., one of the nation’s largest Internet service providers, has signed an agreement saying the company will purge all servers containing child pornography Web sites and block user access to newsgroups that center around pornographic material relating to children, according to a press release issued by New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo. AOL signed the same agreement this week.

Art critic defends child’s naked picture

Posted July 11th, 2008 by minortopics | via www.foxnews.com

Robert Nelson, art critic with the magazine The Age, defends the use of naked pictures of his 6-year-old daughter in Art Monthly magazine.

But, as revealed by Herald Sun columnist Andrew Bolt in his blog this morning, Nelson has previously written of the specific sexuality of such pictures, arguing that “the sensuality of children is integral to parental fondness.

”In the essay — which features on the website of Nelson’s wife Polixeni Papapetrou, who took the pictures of Olympia — Nelson says some photographs taken of Olympia by his wife in 2000 when she was just two years old were taken “at the instigation” of their daughter: “‘Mummy, come and photo me,’ she would exhort.”

The “taboo” of such images is described as “the fear of the child’s latent sexuality and its potential for exciting inappropriate and sinful desire.”

Sex offender goes back to prison for child porn

Posted April 29th, 2008 by minortopics | via www.dailyherald.com

A man in Aurora, Illinois who was previously convicted in 1999 on aggravated criminal sexual abuse has been sentenced back to prison for 13 years after police found an incredibly large stash of child pornography in his home. One perv down, one million to go.

Steven J. Ruby, 44, must serve about half his sentence before he is eligible for parole again, and also receives credit for 1,094 days in the Kane County jail, prosecutors said.

Ruby, formerly of the 200 block of South LaSalle Street, was convicted Feb. 22 of two counts of possession of child pornography.

On April 27, 2005, parole officers on a check at Ruby’s home found several sexually explicit photos of children in his bedroom and inside aluminum cooking trays in the refrigerator, prosecutors said.

A search of Ruby’s computer and compact discs also revealed about 3,500 additional images and more than 100 movies, several of children and infants engaged in sex acts, prosecutors said.

In March 2006, then-U.S. Atty. Gen. Alberto Gonzales announced in Chicago that federal authorities had shut down the chat room and that 27 people were charged in the U.S., Australia, Britain and Canada.

Prosecutors said Jungels used the screen name “Big-al-43895″ when trading the pornography in chat rooms with titles such as “incest” and “daddy-daughter.”

Kitty finds kiddie porn

Posted January 26th, 2008 by minortopics | via www.myfoxaustin.com

The cat lead them to the scene of the crime, a stash hidden in a wall which contained kiddie porn.

Curiosity certainly found justice this time!

AUSTIN — Austin Police arrest a man for having kiddie porn, after a curious cat finds his secret stash of DVD’s.

Police say 24-year-old Luis Jimenez lived in the Hunterwood Apartments in South Austin until August of 2007. After Jimenez moved out of the apartment, a woman with a cat moved into the same apartment unit in September of 2007. Police say the cat was exploring his new home when it discovered a hidden gap between the pantry and ceiling in the kitchen.

Police say the cat’s owner then reached into the gap and found several DVD’s, which contained child pornography. She gave them to the apartment managers, who in turn contacted the Austin Police Department.

Sketch released in Madeleine McCann abuduction

Posted January 20th, 2008 by minortopics | via www.cnn.com

A collaborative effort on the part of two eye-witnesses, who gave details about a man they claim they saw take little Maddy.

The man and his connections to several pedophile rings, with child pornography and predator reach around the world is now being investigated.

Super creepy! Let’s hope law enforcement breaks these rings wide open and that the world be a safer place. Perhaps this will spawn some additional child molestation laws in countries where their laws in that area are insufficient.

That afternoon, when Cooper’s husband went shopping, the man paid her a visit, Mitchell said. She described him as “sallow-skinned and scruffy,” and said that he claimed to be collecting money for an orphanage in a nearby village.
Subsequent investigations have shown the orphanage does not exist, Mitchell told CNN. A few days later, the man was seen with a group of children on an outing to the beach, Mitchell said.

The man spoke in broken, accented English, Mitchell said.

When Cooper returned to Britain and heard about Madeleine’s disappearance, she told British police about the man, and her account was given to police in Portugal, Mitchell told CNN.

The McCann family showed the new sketches to Jane Tanner, a family friend who earlier gave police a description of a man she spotted carrying a child from the resort on the night Madeline vanished. Tanner told them the new sketches resemble the man she saw, Mitchell said.
