Some solutions are better thought out than others, the solution to leave your girlfriend’s hungry toddler in a car while you go into a strip club — not such a good choice.
The topper: The girlfriend, who was at work, gave Baxter $20 to buy dinner for her 3-year-old daughter. The 20-year-old man instead used it for the cover charge and stripper tips at Shotgun Willie’s.
The manager of Fascinations porn shop next-door came to the rescue - flagging down a police officer May 10 to report the toddler alone in the locked car with the driver’s side window opened 3 inches.
“The child appeared very afraid, and seemed to ‘cower’ in the rear seat,” a Glendale officer wrote in the police report. “There was no food or water left in the vehicle.”

Texas officials have told the mothers of the children rescued from a polygamist sect that they need to abandon some of their religious teachings or they will lose custody of their kids.
Some lawyers believe this could mean women would never be able to return to the Yearning for Zion ranch in Eldorado, and would have to choose between some of their beliefs and their children.
But other experts said adults who have tolerated underage “marriages” of girls to older men and apparently have cast out teenage boys might have forfeited all rights to raise their children – and are lucky to be given a shot at regaining their youngsters.
In advance of court hearings that begin Monday, Child Protective Services has drafted 10 goals and 14 tasks that parents will have to work toward to regain custody of their children.

A woman’s boyfriend chained a teenager up and beat her with the handle of a hammer for snoring, and then sent her off to school. There are just too many mother willing to sell their children’s souls and lives for their boyfriends. With a name like Bobbie Jo Davis, ignorance and stupidity probably come with the territory.
NEW CASTLE, Ind. - A prison guard beat his live-in girlfriend’s daughter in the head while she slept because of her loud snoring, police said.
Charles A. Williamson struck the 14-year-old four or five times with the wooden handle of a claw hammer, according to a probable cause affidavit. He told police he had asked the girl and her mother to move out because both of them snore.
Williamson, 46, is an officer at the New Castle Correctional Facility, about 45 miles east of Indianapolis. He was charged with two counts of battery and faces one count of criminal confinement after the girl complained she had been handcuffed to her bed. An officer at the Henry County Jail said Williamson had bonded out, and a message at a number listed under his name said the phone was disconnected.

The parents of a 5 year old Chicago boy who shot himself in the head, are being charged with a misdemeanor for having an unregistered firearm in the house and putting a child in danger.
MT says, “A misdemeanor?!? Shouldn’t this be a felony??!”
The parents of a 5-year-old South Side boy critically wounded when he accidently shot himself in the head Saturday evening have been charged with endangering the life and health of a child, a misdemeaner, Chicago police said early Sunday.
Cortney Rodgers Sr., 26, the boy’s father, and his mother, Dorothy Hayden, 27, of the 6100 block of South Wabash Avenue, are scheduled to appear in court on the charges May 19. Rodgers also has been charged with violating the state’s registration laws for firearms owners, also a misdemeaner.

A 19-year-old was arrested on child neglect charges after police found her and her baby living in a home with no running water and littered with garbage and rotting food. We’re no neat freaks, but we would imagine there’s some serious psychological issues going on to live like that, especially with your kid.
“This home was not fit for a human residence,” an arrest affidavit states. “No child could remain healthy in this home and with the numerous biohazards the child was at risk of future great harm.”
An officer was dispatched at 10:48 a.m. to the residence and met a state Department of Children and Families case worker, who said a complaint was reported that a 1-year-old child was being neglected by his mother at the home.
“By the level of filth and smell coming from the home, it appeared from outside of the home, to be a dangerous environment for humans to reside in,” the affidavit states.
Police reported every room in the two-bedroom house was “filthy,” brimming with dirt, garbage, dirty diapers, decaying food and other items. A 1-year-old boy was in a crib in the living room.

A Chicago mother is being held on $700,000 bail after she was charged last weekend in the death of her infant daughter. She allegedly starved and dehydrated the baby, and just overall neglected her, not even bothering to change the child’s diaper.
Chicean Crosby, 25, of the 7200 block of South Winchester Avenue wept at the hearing before Circuit Judge Raymond Myles at the Cook County Criminal Courts Building.
Crosby’s daughter, also named Chicean, was found dead Oct. 13 by paramedics responding to a call that the child was unresponsive. After the child’s death was ruled a homicide by the Cook County medical examiner’s office on April 10, Crosby was arrested and charged on Saturday.
Though police said in October that the death did not appear to be the result of criminal activity, no cause of death was given by the medical examiner’s office at the time pending further investigation.
Side note: Why did the autopsy take so long? Have we been watching too much CSI?

At least nine of the children taken from Warren Jeff’s polygamist sect have needed hospital care since taken into protective custody, and the children’s mothers are none too happy that they have not been informed of why, or how their kids are doing.
“We can’t seem to get anyone on the phone with authority to make that happen and the mothers don’t even know the seriousness of the situation,” said Amanda Chisholm, a TRLA attorney.
The legal aid society, which represents 48 mothers, said one 2-year-old child lost a severe amount of weight while staying at the San Angelo Coliseum.
TRLA said the organization was told two days ago that the child was in shock and lethargic, but has received no new information since then about where the child is or regarding her current health situation.
The mother is not being allowed to be with this child or her other nursing children, Chisholm said.

Texas state authorities are going to begin DNA tests on the children rescued from the Warren Jeff’s polygamist sect a few weeks ago, in order to determine who their mothers are, and more importantly, to then determine if those women were underage when they gave birth.
“It is a cheek swab and it is very non-invasive,” said Patrick Crimmins of the Texas Department of Children and Family Services of the tests.
A judge on Friday ordered the tests to determine parentage and relationships within the community. Meanwhile, the children must remain in the department’s custody.
Crimmins said the DNA testing will continue for several days. For the tests to be useful, the adults would also have to give DNA samples. However they can legally refuse to do so which could complicate matters further and delay legal decisions about the fate of the children.

The count of children removed from Warren Jeff’s polygamous sect compound has risen to over 400, and stories are starting to come out that life wasn’t exactly some idyllic religious experience there. Rather, many of the women and children that lived on the sprawling Texas ranch may have stayed out of fear of punishment, or even death:
he 16-year-old girl whose call for help sparked a massive raid at a polygamous sect’s compound in west Texas said her spiritual husband would “beat and hurt” her whenever he got angry - sometimes choking her and once breaking her ribs.
During these attacks, another woman in the home held her infant child, the girl said in March 29 calls to an unnamed family violence shelter.
The new details about the call that led to an unprecedented evacuation of children from the sect’s YFZ Ranch near Eldorado are laid out in a chilling affidavit released Tuesday by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.

MT can’t even think of an appropriate punishment for such evil people.
Reports reveal that the mother knowingly allowed her boyfriend to beat the child on a regular basis and was fully aware he was beating the child with a cord and heard her cries and screaming and just went on her merry way. She was probably grateful that someone else was going to take the fall for getting rid of a baby she obviously felt was a burden.
Then, she puts on a good show for the police, crying and asking about the condition of her baby as she sat in the police station. MT thinks this was a calculated effort on her part to lessen her jail time as an accessory. After all, Judges an Juries fall for that crap all the time. Especially since jurors are the ones who aren’t smart enough to get out of jury duty, we leave our children’s fate in their hands.
While the mother stood by and watched her boyfriend beat her baby to death with a video game cord, she did nothing, yet cried at police station asking for updates on her baby??? Are you kidding me????? Sounds like she put on a good show, probably more concerned about thwarting jail time than her baby.
The mother admitted that the boyfriend had been beating the toddler for months. BOTH of them need to be charged with murder. This is outrageous. Can anybody imagine the suffering and pain this little baby went though before her body finally gave up?
During questioning at the police station, Johnson admitted to beating the girl but did not say why, Ward said. The toddler was beaten with a video game controller and cord, according to charging documents.
Just before 2:30 p.m. Sunday, the mother and boyfriend had called 911 to report the injured toddler, Ward said. After the beating, Johnson put the toddler in a bathtub to revive her but she remained unresponsive, according to court records.
Johnson then brought the wet, limp and unresponsive child to Baez and the two began CPR, court records say.
Afterward, the mother told police Johnson was beating her daughter and the child was screaming and then stopped, according to charging documents.
Baez was charged because she was home when Johnson allegedly beat the toddler but did not intervene or try to get help, Ward said.

This story just leaves me so discouraged and demoralized.
What is the point of Child Protective Services anyway? It seems that they’re more concerned with protecting and rewarding abusive parents than they are the children. Can’t we get an organization that actually cares about the well being of innocent babies and children? It’s bull.
The mom confessed to cops that she had hurt Pablo at least twice since he was born Feb. 8, the complaint said.
She told cops that on Feb. 22 she was changing the squirming baby’s diaper and “pressed down several times on his leg in an effort to make the baby stop moving,” prosecutors said.
She then “picked the baby up under his arms and threw the baby onto her bed,” breaking his leg and several of his ribs, prosecutors said.
She also emotionlessly described how she hurt the baby last Thursday when she “picked him up and hit him on the left side of his head with an open hand,” prosecutors said.
She dropped the car seat a short time later, sending the child crashing to the floor onto his head. He suffered a fractured skull and bleeding on the brain.
Caseworkers from the Administration for Children’s Services had visited Paez’s Corona home just two days before that final beating, but apparently saw no reason to remove the child.
Six months ago, ACS workers took a toddler from a pregnant Paez because of her drug use, but she had been clean since, authorities said.
“This is a sad and terrible tragedy that no child should ever have to experience,” ACS said in a statement. “We cannot comment in detail on our involvement with this family as we are still investigating.”

Jeeze,, what took so long?
Isn’t Warren Jeff’s brand of religion just an excuse to try to find a loophole for pedophilia?
ELDORADO, Texas (CNN) — Authorities say they removed 52 children, ages 6 months to 17 years, from a West Texas ranch occupied by followers of imprisoned polygamist sect leader Warren Jeffs
Eighteen girls have been placed in the temporary custody of the state under a court order, said Child Protective Services spokeswoman Marleigh Meisner.
Authorities said they continue to search the 1,900-acre YFZ ranch, and at least one suspect is being sought by police.
Meisner said troopers and child welfare officials arrived at the secluded ranch Thursday evening with arrest and search warrants. They were responding to a report of “physical abuse” and neglect involving a 16-year-old girl.
Another Child Protective Services spokesman, Darrell Azar, said the 18 girls were placed in state custody because it appeared they “had been abused or were at immediate risk of future abuse.”

A little boy was duct taped, bound and held over a trash can as punishment at a Texas daycare center.
Poor little guy. He’s only 4.
Suffice it to say, these people should not be in the business of caring for and protecting children.
George Block, 48, and his wife, Julia Block, 47, manager of the Young Years Day Care Center in Jasper, were charged with child endangerment.
They each face up to two years in state jail if convicted.
According to an arrest affidavit, George Block bound the boy’s wrists and feet on March 3 with duct tape before dangling him over a “metal trash dumpster” at the day care center.
Court papers say Julia Block approved her husband’s actions as discipline for the boy “after a day of very disruptive behavior.” George Block does not work at the day care center.
The 5-foot-10, 240-pound George Block is known at the facility as “Bigfoot.”
The boy told child abuse investigators that “Bigfoot” wrapped his wrists and ankles with tape and held him over a large trash receptacle, according to court papers.

A 4 year old boy was being withheld food and water and was found severely malnourished and starving, weighing only 10 lbs.
PACE, Fla. (AP) — Authorities in the Florida Panhandle say they have arrested a woman suspected of severely neglecting a 4-year-old boy.
Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Sgt. Scott Haines says the boy weighed only 10 pounds when he was hospitalized earlier this month but his condition is improving.
Deputies on Friday arrested 19-year-old Erin Brittany Markes, identifying her only as the boy’s caregiver.

How in the world do you trust your room mate to watch your infant and say you completely trust this person and while you’re gone, the roommate tortures, beats and kills the baby and you claim that you just don’t know how in the world that could happen???
Perhaps if the parents had a collective IQ above the infants, they might have saved this little baby with their better judgment.
I don’t believe this babysitter/roomy was a swell guy who just had a bad day. This is a psychopath and you just don’t become a psychopath in a blink of an eye and decide to kill a little baby. These parent’s stupidity is what killed this baby.
The family of an 8-month-old boy who police say was killed by his babysitter are speaking out.
Easton Lee died while in the care of Tyson Chamberlain who is now facing charges of first degree murder and child abuse.
Police say the boy’s mother is Chamberlain’s roommate and considered a friend.
“The last thing I did that night was give him a hug and told him I trusted him” said Robert Lee, Easton’s father.
