Mom, boyfriend charged in BB gun attacks

Posted August 22nd, 2008 by minortopics | via www.azstarnet.com

A mother and her boyfriend have been arrested for shooting the woman’s two children with a BB gun.

The children’s mother — Briana Pierce, 26 — and her boyfriend — Paul Frantz, 35 — were arrested on two counts each of child abuse, said Deputy Dawn Hanke, a Pima County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman. The boy, 9, and his sister were placed in the custody of state Child Protective Services.

Last Thursday, the Sheriff’s Department was called to Homer Davis Elementary School, 4250 N. Romero Road, because the boy had visible bruising on his face, according to a search warrant affidavit filed in Pima County Superior Court.

He had been absent on the previous days, and school officials had been told he had the flu, the document said. His mother also left a voice-mail message at the school saying they were in New Mexico, and her son got bruises on his face, so she wanted to keep him home.

CPS wants 8 polygamist sect kids back in custody

Posted August 6th, 2008 by minortopics | via www.dallasnews.com

Texas Child Protective Services has petitioned the court to get 8 children they were forced to return to a polygamist sect back into state custody.

In affidavits that provide the best view yet of what CPS has found in its investigation of possible sexual abuse of young teenage girls, four child-abuse investigators said removal of six girls and two boys, ages 5 to 17, are necessary because their mothers won’t agree to keep them away from men practicing and promoting underage marriage.

The affidavits reveal stories that are sad and dismaying.

A 10-year-old girl told CPS investigator Kerrie Blair that she was brought to the sect’s West Texas ranch in the middle of the night more than two years ago. She and a younger sister lived there with Bishop Merril Jessop and his wife, Barbara. The two girls haven’t seen their 41-year-old birth mother since coming to Texas, Ms. Blair said.

Two year old tortured to death by parents

Posted July 26th, 2008 by minortopics | via ap.google.com

If this doesn’t make your face hot and your blood boil and your stomach turn, not sure what will…

COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) — Parents facing murder charges in the June death of their 2-year-old son restrained the toddler with duct tape while he stood naked in the corner of the closet, court documents allege.

An autopsy determined that Cortez Johnson died June 25 at University Hospital from blunt force trauma to his head. Prosecutors on Thursday charged the boy’s parents, Horace Johnson, 25, and Keyonda Lumpkin, 26, with second-degree murder. Court documents have also spelled her last name Lumpkins.

According to a probable cause statement, Johnson and Lumpkin blamed each other for the child’s injuries, which included severe burns on his face, neck, lip, arms and genitals; loose teeth; and deep cuts and ligature marks on his wrists.

Registered sex offender kills girl

Posted July 12th, 2008 by minortopics | via www.ajc.com

Here we are given even more reason to lock sex offenders away for life and throw away the key…Sex offenders actually escalate their crimes and move onto more sadistic ways of abusing children, eventually killing them. They don’t rehabilitate, they degenerate and deteriorate and become sicker and sicker until a child is murdered. This, after many years of the pedo raping children of course, because we all know that most child molestations and rapes go unreported because far too often, the victims are afraid and threatened into intimidation and secrecy.

One child is one too many…

PANAMA CITY, Fla. — Police say a registered sex offender from Georgia has confessed to killing a 13-year-old Panama City girl in an area hotel room.

Police Capt. Robert Colbert says 33-year-old Mathew Caylor of Auburn, Ga., told investigators he killed Melinda Denise Hinson on Tuesday. The girl’s body was found by hotel staff in Caylor’s room on Thursday.

Police call day care a “pig sty”

Posted July 3rd, 2008 by minortopics | via www.ktvb.com

A home day care provider in Meridian, Idaho is in jail after being investigated for abusing the children under her watch, and for deplorable conditions in her home. Uh, didn’t the parents perhaps notice that when they dropped their kids off? Perhaps quality care is hard to find in Meridian…

Ada County Sheriff’s detectives say on Monday [Dawn] Seekamp got angry at the baby.

Other children in the home say she slammed the little boy into his high chair three times, and the impact was so hard that he suffered a spiral fracture to his femur.

When detectives went into Seekamp’s home they found deplorable conditions — feces on the carpet and on a baby seat, as well as rotten food all over the home.

Mother and friend arrested for torturing 5 year old

Posted June 14th, 2008 by minortopics | via www.signonsandiego.com

MT doesn’t even have the words to describe this despicable act. It is beyond our imagination how anybody can do this to an innocent toddler. It’s unconscionable.

WARNING GRAPHIC CONTENT:

LOS ANGELES – Police were looking Friday for the mother of a 5-year-old boy and her friend suspected of starving and beating the child and subjecting him to “unbearable physical and psychological abuse.”

Starkeisha Brown, 24, and Krystal Matthews, 19, who live together in a South Los Angeles residence, have not been seen since Brown’s biological son was found abandoned. The child was taken to a hospital Monday with multiple injuries, including cigarette burns to his body and a broken tooth with a nerve exposed, Assistant Chief James McDonnell said at a news conference.

His medical condition remains guarded.

“I’ve never seen anyone with these kinds of injuries who has lived,” McDonnell said.

Father beats his newborn; infant is now blind

Posted June 14th, 2008 by minortopics | via www.sltrib.com

What kind of coward beats up on a newborn? Why, oh, why, couldn’t this father have gone to the nearest biker bar and started with all his wussy, “My mother never loved me,” BS and had the cannolis beat out of him?

Maybe someone will do him a favor and blind him and hit his head a gazillion times against a brick wall. Ah, justice. We can only dream…

An infant is blind and brain-damaged after at least two alleged severe beatings by his father.

A 22-year-old Provo man was arrested Thursday on possible charges of child abuse after admitting to squeezing, shaking and throwing his six-week-old son, according to an affidavit of probable cause filed in 4th District Court.

Doctors who examined the baby at Primary Children’s Medical Center discovered at least 14 rib fractures, three skull fractures, a fractured leg and multiple brain injuries, according to the affidavit.

Foster parents charged with horrific child abuse and torture

Posted June 8th, 2008 by minortopics | via www.newsday.com

Foster parents are supposed to keep children safe. Where did the system go so horribly wrong, that Child Services would place a baby in the care of a woman and her boyfriend who brutalized, tortured and killed this poor little guy.

Her boyfriend, Lemar Martin, 25, was charged with assault and endangering a child’s welfare, as well as criminal possession of marijuana. The three lived in an apartment on Patchen Avenue in Bedford-Stuyvesant.

An autopsy yesterday found Kyle died from “multiple blunt impact injuries,” said Ellen Borakove, a spokeswoman for the city medical examiner. Police said more charges are pending.

The Associated Press reported that police said the boy had horrific signs of abuse, including a broken leg, and apparently had been sodomized before he died.

Cheatham’s and Martin’s relatives could not be reached yesterday.

Father tortures infant and leaves her with brain damage

Posted June 6th, 2008 by minortopics | via www.mcall.com

A three month old infant had to have half of her skull removed resulting from injuries of torture and abuse by her father. The infant had bruises all over her body, a blood clot in the brain, a fractured skull, many fractured ribs, a fractured wrist which has left her with brain damage. Her doctors believed the baby wouldn’t survive, but she did, although her quality of life will be anybody’s guess.

A 23-year-old Alburtis man charged with attempted homicide involving his 6-week-old daughter Easter weekend — the baby suffered a fractured skull, leg and wrist fractures and six broken ribs and was expected to die but survived — had his formal arraignment in Lehigh County Court on Thursday.

David J. Walsh waived the reading of the charges and was returned to Lehigh County Prison, where he has been held under $750,000 bail since his April 7 arrest. A trial date has not been set.

Polygamist sect children returned; underage marriage outlawed

Posted June 3rd, 2008 by minortopics | via www.foxnews.com

Parents are being reunited with their children that were taken from Warren Jeffs’ polygamist sect, after a Texas judge ordered that the removal of the children was improper. And in order to keep further heat off them, the sect’s leaders have now outlawed underage marriage within their ranks. How nice, since the state of Texas had already outlawed it for them…

Late Monday, Willie Jessop, an elder for the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, said the church won’t allow underage girls to marry. Jessop told the AP the new policy will forbid any girl to marry who is not of legal consent age in the state where she lives.

Jessop said the church has been widely misunderstood, but he said the church will not sanction marriages of underage girls and will counsel members against such unions. He insisted marriages within the church have always been consensual.

Earlier, Texas District Judge Barbara Walther, responding to a state Supreme Court ruling last week, signed an order filed by attorneys for the parents and Child Protective Services, allowing the parents to begin picking their children up from foster care facilities around the state almost immediately.

Bishop compares global warming skeptics to Josef Fritzl

Posted June 2nd, 2008 by minortopics | via www.foxnews.com

A bishop in the United Kingdom stated that those denying global warming are just as bad as Josef Fritzl, the man who kept his daughter locked in the cellar for 24 years. Hey, Bishop, go back to making with the Eucharist, eh?

The Bishop of Stafford, the Right Rev. Gordon Mursell, made the comparison in a parish “pastoral” newsletter and said that people who fail to act to prevent global warming are “as guilty as” Fritzl and “destroying the future of our children,” the Times of London reported Monday.

The bishop denied Monday that he was accusing those who ignore climate change of being child abusers, but said Fritzl was “the most extreme form” of a common selfish streak in humankind.

“In fact you could argue that, by our refusal to face the truth about climate change, we are as guilty as he is — we are in effect locking our children and grandchildren into a world with no future and throwing away the key,” he wrote in the letter entitled “following our dream,” distributed around the Diocese of Lichfield.

Deputies say the toddler’s mother took her child to Lehigh Regional Medical Center when she noticed a change in behavior.

Doctors found abnormal motor skills and their tests concluded that cocaine was the cause. The child was then taken to HealthPark.

Mother gets 18 months in jail for beating son

Posted May 28th, 2008 by minortopics | via www.tauntongazette.com

A woman in Taunton, Massachusetts has been sentenced to 18 months in jail for abusing her infant boy while she was drunk.

Judge David Turcotte reduced the charge, which carries up to five years of jail time, to assault and battery during Tuesday’s proceedings.

[Suleidy] Lugo, who pleaded not guilty at her arraignment, was arrested after her neighbors told police she was drunk and putting her son in danger.

Police reports said that Lugo at one point slapped her baby across the face and grabbed him by the neck.

Why the hell did the judge reduce the charges?

Police say mother and nurses failed developmentally disabled boy

Posted May 18th, 2008 by minortopics | via www.chicagotribune.com

How can anybody be so cruel as to allow a severly disabled boy to die from bed sores so severe, it kills him? What did the hired nurses do all day?

Jaylen Brown needed round-the-clock care, and the 13-year-old developmentally disabled boy with cerebral palsy was supposed to have it. His mother had the help of two licensed practical nurses to care for her son seven days a week at their South Side home.

And yet the boy died Thursday of complications from “bone-deep bedsores” that the Cook County Public Guardian called a “a disgusting case of neglect” that a number of people should have seen before it was too late.

The boy’s death has been ruled a homicide, with the cause being blood poisoning from neglected severe bedsores, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
