Casey Anthony, who was indicted for the murder of her daughter, Caylee — whose body was never found — pleaded not guilty to the crime.
Casey Anthony, 22, didn’t attend her 8:45 a.m. ET arraignment hearing in Orange County, Fla., but a written not guilty plea was entered beforehand. She remains jailed without bond.
Her trial is scheduled to start Jan. 5; a pretrial conference will be held Dec. 11, according to the judge in the case, Stan Strickland.
In addition to first-degree murder, Anthony is charged with aggravated manslaughter, aggravated child abuse and four counts of lying to investigators.

Bad news for Casey Anthony — a grand jury indicted her today in the murder of her daughter, Caylee, along with other charges.
A grand jury indicted Casey Anthony on charges of first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse, aggravated manslaughter and four counts of lying to investigators about the disappearance of her daughter, Caylee, State Attorney Lawson Lamar said. The mother is being held without bond.
If convicted of first-degree murder she could face the death penalty or life in prison. Prosecutors said no decision has been made on whether the death penalty will be sought.
Orange County Sheriff Kevin Beary said investigators’ satisfaction that the indictment had been issued was tempered by what it concludes about the girl’s fate.
“Speaking as a father, a day doesn’t pass where I wish the evidence that we have gathered didn’t add up to the painfully obvious,” he said. “Sadly, I cannot change the facts surrounding the investigation.”

The defense lawyers for Casey Anthony — mother of missing girl Caylee Anthony — have been granted the ability to physically review key evidence.
Ninth Judicial Circuit Court Judge Stan Strickland disagreed Friday with an argument by Orange County prosecutors that the evidence did not pertain to the child neglect charges that Casey Anthony faces in the disappearance of her toddler daughter.
Strickland allowed motions that the defense be given access to forensic tests involving chloroform, DNA air samples and hair strands within 10 days. He denied access to evidence collected by cadaver dogs.
Defense attorney Jose Baez had sought the car and other items available so he can conduct his own tests.

Awww, looks like Casey Anthony is screwed. A Grand Jury is convening next week which may bring down charges of murder or manslaughter. Perhaps little Caylee Anthony may see some justice served yet.
ORLANDO, FLA. — Casey Anthony could soon face a homicide charge in connection with the disappearance of her daughter, according to broadcast reports in Orlando.
The state attorney’s office plans to present its case next to a grand jury next week, according to the reports from Orlando TV station Local 6. From there, it will be the job of the grand jury to determine if the evidence is strong enough to warrant prosecution.
The reports indicate that it is not known if the state will seek murder or manslaughter charges.

Is the third time a charm? The family of missing girl Caylee Anthony hope so.
The mother of a missing Central Florida toddler was taken into custody for the third time Monday.
Casey Anthony was visiting her home confinement officer at the Orange County jail when sheriff’s deputies re-arrested her on new check fraud charges. A hearing on the new charges is scheduled for Tuesday.
Casey reported her three-year-old daughter Caylee missing in mid-July, though police say Caylee had been missing since mid-June. Casey was first arrested shortly after reporting her daughter missing. A bail bondsman from California provided bail, but Casey was re-arrested on theft and fraud charges unrelated to Caylee’s disappearance.

Looks like the Orlando police are trying to find any excuse to put Casey Anthony back in jail, and who can blame them?
A handgun was removed from the trunk of missing Florida toddler Caylee Anthony’s grandfather’s car, MyFOXOrlando.com reported.
Acting on a tip, police took the gun late Friday night from George Anthony’s car — parked in his driveway — and brought it to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
It was not immediately clear what the significance the find will mean — if any — in the missing 3-year-old’s case.

New lab results show that not only were human remains in Casey Anthony’s trunk, but there were also traces of chloroform.
Casey Anthony’s computer, confiscated within hours of her arrest in July on charges of child neglect, making false official statements and obstruction of justice, also showed visits to Web sites with information about chloroform.
The discovery of chloroform, a chemical compound that can be used to incapacitate crime victims, is a piece of evidence prosecutors will use in building the case of missing 3-year-old Caylee Anthony.

Florida authorities had given Casey Anthony until 9:00 a.m. this morning to cooperate with them regarding the disappearance of her daughter Caylee in exchange for limited immunity, but Casey declined the offer.
Padilla said the focus is still on finding Caylee — alive or dead — a discovery that would significantly aid in the investigation.
“Obviously that would clear up a lot of questions that we have,” Padilla told FOXNews.com.
He declined to comment on which of the various theories, if any, had become the most prominent in the investigation. Detectives have been trying to determine whether Caylee died accidentally, was killed or was kidnapped, as her mother has claimed. Police have expressed serious doubts about the abduction story.
“The key is with the mother, with Casey,” Padilla said. “If there is a cover-up, it would be her — if there is. Right now she continues to not provide any information that is helpful to us.”

Florida investigators are saying that they have found proof that human remains were at some point in the trunk of Casey Anthony’s car. For those living under a rock the last couple month’s, Casey’s daughter Caylee went missing at the beginning of June, and Anthony did not report the missing girl for over a month.
Investigators have found chemical evidence of human decomposition in the trunk of the car connected to Florida mother Casey Anthony, a law enforcement source said Wednesday.
A spokesman for the University of Tennessee Forensic Anthropology Facility, also known as the Body Farm, said investigators were testing the air found in the trunk of the car for chemical compounds only found in cadavers.
At the time, the spokesman said, “we would not have performed these tests if we didn’t think there was something there.”

Florida police have brought in 3 cadaver dogs to help in the search for missing Orlando girl Caylee Anthony.
A sheriff’s investigator, Sergeant John Allen, said Friday that authorities don’t rule out the possibility that Caylee Marie Anthony is still alive.
Deputies say the girl’s 22-year-old mother, Casey Marie Anthony, was arrested Wednesday on charges of child neglect and criminal obstruction. They say the woman told investigators she had dropped off her daughter at a baby sitter last month but hadn’t seen her since. The woman didn’t contact police until this week, officials say, once relatives became concerned.

Whether or not Casey Anthony killed her own baby has yet to be proven, but surely her behavior is not one of a caring or concerned mother. Casey Anthony seems to only care about herself and all evidence so far would suggest that Casey Anthony only cares about herself and getting away with a tragic ending to an innocent girls life. It just didn’t have to be this way. Was this mother so jealous of the love and attention of a little toddler that she just couldn’t be bothered anymore? Such a sad situation.
Meanwhile, DNA tests have come back but have not been released to the public. Something strange is a brewin’ and MT has the feeling the Florida investigators know more than what has been released, hence the formal charges. They just need time to put a case together. Let’s pray that they do.
Casey Marie Anthony, 22, was charged with one felony and one misdemeanor offense, in addition to the child neglect charge she already faced. She will be arraigned on the criminal charges.
Also Tuesday, test results from DNA samples taken from a car driven by Anthony came in and were turned over to investigators.
The evidence was gathered from the trunk of a vehicle that Anthony was using when her 2-year-old daughter Caylee Marie Anthony vanished in mid-June.

New photos have surfaced that show Casey Anthony — mother of missing girl Caylee Anthony — looking less than distraught as she whooped it up in a local nightclub. These details were released on a recent airing of Fox’s “On the Record” show with Greta Van Susteren. Here’s part of the transcript:
But first up tonight, “On the Record” obtains shocking new photos of Casey Anthony partying at a club days after she says her daughter went missing. Casey is behind bars tonight, a person of interest in what police say may be the homicide of her little daughter, Caylee. Casey claims she left her daughter with a baby-sitter on June 9, and that when she returned to pick her up, little Caylee was gone.
It took five weeks before the child was reported missing, and now we know what Casey Anthony was doing for part of that time, these pictures taken at a club on June 20, while Casey says she was conducting her own search for her daughter.

Cindy Anthony, the grandmother of Caylee Anthony, who has not been seen in over a month, said on the Today Show that her daughter Casey knows who has the missing girl and that police should let her out so she can help find her. Or maybe, you know, SHE SHOULD JUST TELL THE POLICE THE INFORMATION.
“I know Casey knows who has her,” Cindy Anthony told NBC. “I know Casey doesn’t know where they’re at right at the moment. But I don’t know anything else right now because I can’t speak to my daughter. And we’re trying to get that changed very quickly.”
Casey Anthony, 22, reported her daughter Caylee Marie Anthony missing last week. The little girl’s grandmother says Caylee was last seen June 9. Authorities say the child’s mother has repeatedly lied to investigators and showed little emotion during interviews about her daughter’s whereabouts.
“She didn’t seem to be concerned,” Orange County Deputy Sheriff Carlos Padilla told “Good Morning America” on Monday.
