Young boys find WWII grenade relic

Posted February 17th, 2008 by minortopics | via www.foxnews.com

See what happens when you encourage your kids to explore the great outdoors? They become regular “Indiana Joneses”.

PACE, Fla. — An 8-year-old boy and his friend found a live, World War II-era hand grenade while searching for buried treasure with a metal detector.

Sidney Mathis and his friend had found nails, bolts and a toy car by sweeping the detector over a field near their home Thursday. But it was their other find that alarmed Sidney’s father, Chris Mathis.

He arrived home Thursday to find the boys about to put the grenade into a bucket of water. Chris Mathis grabbed the grenade and dangled it outside the window of his sport utility vehicle as he drove away from the apartment complex.

Boys tongues stuck to flagpole after they tried licking it

Posted January 27th, 2008 by minortopics | via www.foxnews.com

Anybody with boys will appreciate these antics…

CHESTERTON, Ind. — Two fourth-grade boys mimicking a scene from the movie “A Christmas Story” wound up with their tongues stuck to a frozen flagpole.

Gavin Dempsey and James Alexander were serving on flag duty at Jackson Elementary School Friday morning, with the job of raising and lowering the school’s flags. They decided to see if their tongues really would stick to the cold metal.

“I decided to try it because I thought all of the TV shows were lies, but turns out I was wrong,” Gavin said.
