Police: Texas boy murdered, not crushed

Posted March 27th, 2008 by minortopics | via ap.google.com

After an autopsy of Eliseo Gonzalez Jr., a boy in La Joya Texas who previously was believed to have been crushed by his morbidly obese aunt, it’s been discovered that little Eliseo didn’t die because of a fat ass, but rather due to 2 blows to the head. This qualifies as one of the weirdest cover up stories ever. Hopefully his aunt will soon be able to go on the “rotting away in a jail cell” diet.

Mayra Lizbeth Rosales, who weighs at least 800 pounds, had told police that she slipped and hit the boy’s head with her hand and that he fell from a chair. But investigators said the boy died of two blows to the head. The autopsy also found skull fractures that were estimated to be about a month old.

The 27-year-old bedridden woman was photographed and fingerprinted at her La Joya home before being released on a personal recognizance bond, Hidalgo County Sheriff Lupe Trevino said.

Rosales’ sister and the boy’s mother, Jamie Lee Rosales, was arrested on a charge of injury to a child, accused of failing to protect the boy. She was being held on $50,000 bond. A capital murder conviction could carry a possible sentence of life in prison or the death penalty.

Police investigating death of Colorado baby

Posted March 18th, 2008 by minortopics | via www.rockymountainnews.com

Police were called to an El Paso County, Colorado hospital Friday night after a 2-month-old infant was pronounced dead and who appeared to have suffered some sort of injury:

Police were called to Memorial Hospital about 6:30 p.m. Friday, where Preston James Cheever was unconscious and not breathing, police said.

The baby’s mother drove part of the way to the hospital from a home in the 5900 block of Bestview Way, but an ambulance met her and took the child to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police on Friday said the infant had injuries, but did not know what caused them.

The county coroner has determined that little Preston died from blunt force trauma to the head.
