Well, now we know why those crazy kids got engaged last week.

Ashlee Simpson is pregnant, a source confirmed to Usmagazine.com.

The singer, 23, is expecting her first child with fiancé Pete Wentz, 28.

Simpson and the Fall Out Boy frontman announced their engagement Wednesday.

“We are thrilled to confirm their engagement and congratulate this happy couple,” a spokesperson for the couple told Us. “Beyond that there is nothing to say.”

In an interview with Latina magazine, Jessica Alba revealed that she plans to only speak Spanish to her baby, due to regrets that she didn’t learn Spanish — the language of her grandparents — when she was a child. Only one thing: Alba doesn’t even speak fluent Spanish:

Now, Alba is committed to mastering Spanish so she can speak the language to her baby.

She adds: “Hopefully I can pick it up because I want my kids to speak Spanish. I don’t even want them to speak English for maybe the first two to three years, until pre-school.

“We’re in the United States so they’re going to learn it anyway.”

Jessica, take a little time to Google “immersion programs” and “language studies” before you carry on with your awesome little plan.

A miracle?

How else do you explain why an 11 month old baby was picked up and thrown by a tornado, surviving, while his 24 year old mother perished?

CASTALIAN SPRINGS, Tenn. — The muddy field was littered with debris after a wave of violent storms: Living room couches, strollers, children’s toys. So when two rescuers came upon a baby, they thought he was a doll.

Then he moved.

“We grabbed hold of his neck (to take a pulse) and he took a breath of air and started crying,” said David Harmon, a firefighter from a nearby county who was combing the field for tornado victims.

The boy was found at least 100 yards away from where his family’s house had been, possibly lifted by the storm’s fierce winds, according to witnesses at the scene on Thursday. There was no trace of exactly where the house stood. His mother, who did not survive, was found in the same field.

UPDATE: We now find out who the toddler is. He was kidnapped from his home and thrown 30 ft. onto the asphalt pavement. The baby died of multiple, blunt force trauma.

The police have yet to find out the baby’s identity who was dropped over an overpass in Honolulu, onto a freeway or who’s baby s/he was.

Could this be a copycat murder?

HONOLULU — Honolulu police said they are investigating the death of a baby on the H-1 Freeway.

Witnesses said that they saw a man throw the infant from the Miller Street pedestrian overpass, but police said they are not sure if the child was alive or dead when the man threw the child. It appears the child was hit by at least two cars, officials said.

“That was a horrible sight that I seen down there, for any man to do that to a child,” witness Johnnie Bruen said.

I’m afraid to fly, although I do it when I have to, but I always think if there are babies and children on board, that somehow a crash would be more unlikely because the tragedy would be even greater. Unfortunately, for this tiny baby, mind over matter would not have been sufficient…

(CNN) — A renowned nuclear physics professor and a six-week old baby, due to meet his grandfather for the first time, were among the 56 people killed when a plane crashed in southern Turkey early Friday, agency reports have said.

The cause of the crash, which left no survivors, is not yet known.

Giving a whole new meaning to 4-eyes…

MAPUTO (AFP) - A Mozambican woman has given birth to a baby boy with two heads, hospital officials said on Monday.

“It is a male baby, with two heads, one of which is situated in the abdominal area,” described Mario Ntembe, who said he had seen the newly born child.

Ntembe said that the second head had two eyes, two ears, a mouth and nose, but they were apparently not functioning.
