The parents of a two-year-old found wandering along a freeway in Austin, Texas, have decided to speak to the media to defend themselves.

The father, who did not want to be identified tells KXAN that they got their two year old, almost three year old boy back late Friday from Child Protective Services. The boy showed his parents how he had unlocked the door and deadbolt. Now, they say they are going to get another lock for the door that will reach higher than the deadbolt they have now.

The mother, who also didn’t want to be identified, told KXAN that their son is used to sleeping with his parents and that night, they had made him sleep in his own bed and that he was probably scared and was trying to look for them. She says she wants people to know that “it wasn’t something that we just didn’t care that our kid was missing for six or seven hours, we were sleeping.”

Uh, a “children’s advocate” is not supposed to be advocating having sex with them.

A court-appointed children’s advocate remained in jail Wednesday night after police said they seized video allegedly showing him having sex with children ranging in age from 3 to 15 and two adult women who appeared to be unconscious.

Billy Dan Carroll, 53, is in jail on a bond of $2 million, said a Travis County Jail official. The jail official did not know if Carroll has an attorney. An automated message at the jail said Carroll must post the full bond amount or a surety bond worth $2 million before being released.

The Associated Press left phone messages at multiple listings for a Billy Carroll, but none were returned.

Carroll was arrested Sunday and faces a charge of aggravated sexual assault of a child, in connection with a May 17 incident allegedly involving an 8-year-old girl, according to the Austin American-Statesman Web site.

A father murdered his three small children in a Baltimore hotel, yet conveniently spared himself. Apparently he was the only one he felt deserved to live, like so many parents before him who fail their children so miserably and murder their own flesh and blood but cannot bring themselves too off themselves too because they don’t believe they, themselves, deserve to die.

I hope it’s made very clear, when he rots in prison, what he is there for.

ABC 2 News has just learned that the bodies of three children, who appear to have been murdered, have been found at the Baltimore Marriott Inner Harbor Hotel.

Shortly after 1 p.m. hotel security received a call from a man staying at the hotel claiming he was going to hurt himself.

Hotel security, along with Baltimore City Police, went up to the room. That’s when they found the three children.

The man, identified as Mark Castillo, 41, of Silver Spring, called the desk at the Baltimore Marriott Inner Harbor at Camden Yards around 1:15 p.m. Sunday and said he had just killed his two sons and daughter, said police spokesman Sterling Clifford. Police identified the children as Anthony, 6, Austin, 4, and Athena, 2.

Paul Clough was arrested Friday after he became irritated while posing with children for photographs and allegedly placed an 8-month-old baby on the ground. Sometime during that process, the baby was injured and suffered a bruise to his forehead, MyFOXAustin reports.

Police are still investigating if the injury was accidental or intentional. The baby’s parents took him to the hospital, where he was treated and released.

A 7 year old boy is now in critical condition after being found unconscious, hanging by his shirt on a coat hook. A teacher found him, but doesn’t know how long he had been hanging there. It is unclear whether this was a freakish accident or if the boy was the victim of harassment and bullying.

AUSTIN, Texas — A 7-year-old boy is in critical condition after being found hanging by his shirt collar from a clothing hook in a charter school’s dressing room, and police tried to determine Thursday whether it was an attack or an accident.

The shirt collar cut off the boy’s oxygen, and he was unconscious when a teacher found him Wednesday, said police Lt. Mark Spangler. He was in critical condition at a hospital Thursday.

The cat lead them to the scene of the crime, a stash hidden in a wall which contained kiddie porn.

AUSTIN — Austin Police arrest a man for having kiddie porn, after a curious cat finds his secret stash of DVD’s.

Police say 24-year-old Luis Jimenez lived in the Hunterwood Apartments in South Austin until August of 2007. After Jimenez moved out of the apartment, a woman with a cat moved into the same apartment unit in September of 2007. Police say the cat was exploring his new home when it discovered a hidden gap between the pantry and ceiling in the kitchen.

Police say the cat’s owner then reached into the gap and found several DVD’s, which contained child pornography. She gave them to the apartment managers, who in turn contacted the Austin Police Department.

AUSTIN, Texas — Two boys, ages 11 and 14, have been charged with breaking into the home of a 60-year-old woman and trying to sexually assault her, police said Tuesday.

The boys wore bandanas and gloves when they broke through a window in July, and one of them tried to sexually assault her but stopped when a heart device was triggered, Detective Scott Stanfield said.

AUSTIN, Texas — A woman who was left comatose after her estranged husband attacked her earlier this year has given birth to a baby girl.

Dana Conley, 38, carried the child for nearly an entire term while unconscious. Doctors delivered the 5-pound 3-ounce baby Thursday via Caesarean section, according to a prepared statement from Williamson County District Attorney John Bradley.
