Posted April 24th, 2008 by minortopics | via www.wsbtv.com

We may listen twice next time we hear a teacher complain they don’t get any respect from parents. A mother and daughter are being charged with violently attacking a high school teacher, supposedly because the girl was failing the teacher’s class and the mom wasn’t too happy about it. Gee, we can’t understand why the teen might be have problems in school when she has such a fine role model at home.

Police charged Georgia Thornton, 44, and her 17-year-old daughter Sequita with attacking Felecia Williams, a teacher at Southside High School on February 28. The official charges against the mother include battery on a school teacher, disrupting a public school, criminal trespass and theft by taking in connection with the alleged attack on teacher.

Sequita Thornton was charged with battery on a teacher and disrupting a public school.

Williams told WSB-TV Channel 2 that the teenager was failing her TV Production class. The teacher claims Georgia Thornton visited the school to complain about the girl’s treatment and attacked her during the meeting, knocking her to the ground, kicking and punching her and pulling her hair. Williams claims Sequita Thornton joined the attack.

“And then she threw the book back and just took me like this and then started flinging me everywhere,” said Williams.

Williams said eventually two of her students stepped in and stopped the attack.

Posted February 17th, 2008 by minortopics | via www.myfoxatlanta.com

A Georgia man who is a convicted child molester took his 4 year old daughter without permission as he does not have custody of the little girl.

Minor Topics is thinking this might not turn out well. The child molester is wanted for bond violation. There is nothing good that happen with him having unfettered access to a small child. I can only imagine the kind of abuse he will likely inflict upon her.

She needs to be found.

Really bad parenting skills…

Posted September 22nd, 2007 by minortopics | via www.wsbtv.com

ATLANTA — A young boy’s mother drove a getaway car for her son and other local teens involved in a burglary spree, police said Friday.

Police continue to look for Lakechia Woodard, 36, for driving her 12-year-old son and three friends to a house off Flat Shoals Road where they stole 14 rifles.

Suffice it to say, these kids don’t have a chance.

But the “understatement of the day” award goes to the victims son:

“You pick your son up after he’s done robbing a place? That’s bad. That’s bad on you,” said a burglary victim’s son, Willis Grant.

Far too many children are dying as a result of falling out of windows. Parents need to be diligent as a result:

ATLANTIC CITY - A toddler died Tuesday morning after he wiggled from his father’s arms and fell through a hotel’s third-story window, police said.

Aftab Master was holding his young son, Miron, at about 10:15 a.m., when the boy apparently leaned forward and pressed on the open window’s screen, which gave way, Police Chief John Mooney said. The screen and the child fell through the window, landing on the parking lot below.
