Four 6th grade students invovled in participating in and filming a pornographic movie in an empty classroom at their school, which was subsequently posted in the Internet, are receiving psychological counseling while the very concerned Education Department tries to determine whether or not to take any disciplinary action.

In the video, three boys, presumably age 12 or under, are seen engaging in oral and anal sex.  The sex acts were recorded on the cell phone of a fourth student and put on the Internet, where the mother of one of the boys saw it and notified authorities.

The incident occurred late last month in the town of town of Calkini, which a relatively conservative and heavily Indian area in Mexico’s Gulf coast state of Campeche.  Authorities say that it did not appear the teacher was present when the video was made.

The video has been taken down from the Internet and the investigation is ongoing.

A 35-year-old Upland, Nebraska woman has been accused by police of pimping out her own 7-year-old and 14-year-old daughters to at least 10 different men.

Authorities say that the woman prostituted her 14-year-old daughter to at least 7 different men and allowed them to have sex with her at least 20 times.  They say she prostituted her 7-year-old daughter to at least three different men.  Authorities believe that the woman may have watched while the men had sex with her daughters.

While the investigation is ongoing, three men have been arrested so far and charged with sexual assault of a child.

A truck driver from Columbus, Donald Grafe, 37, was arrested Saturday on suspicion of sexually assaulting the 14-year-old girl between March 24 and April  11 at a truck stop at 4800 W. O St. in Lincoln.

The other two men that have been arrested are Shad Chandler, 41, of Lincoln, and Alexander Rahe,  38, of Omaha.

Police began investigating the woman at the end of April when a state trooper was tipped off by an unidentified informant that the woman had texted him nude photos of her minor daughters.

A string was set up by police and the mother allegedly agreed to prostitute her 14-year-old daughter to an undercover investigator for $200 at a Kearny motel.

The patrol set up a sting, and the mother allegedly agreed to prostitute her older daughter for $200 to an undercover  investigator in a Kearney motel.

The woman was arrested April 26 and has been charged with child pornography and with conspiracy to commit sexual assault of a child.  She remains in Buffalo County Jail on $250,000 bond.

A Spanish teacher at the Veterans Memorial Academy in San Benito, Texas, was replaced after a student recorded her on his cell phone, ranting about the pending apocalypse and claiming she was Mary Magdalene reincarnated and was pregnant with God’s child. The student posted the video on You Tube, featuring the 12 minute speech which warned students of impending doom, but she cautioned students not to worry, because Jesus created another planet and everybody would be ‘saved’ and live among beauty and waterfalls on another planet, where everybody was eternally suspended at 25-years-of-age. She announced the date of the pending apocalypse at December 21, 2012.

According to the Houston Chronicle, students alerted school officials and their parents while the incident was occurring. School officials then escorted 42-year-old Imelda Paredes out of her classroom.  The school has only publicly commented that the teacher was not in danger of harming herself or anyone else and that the incident was a “medical emergency”.

On the video, Paredes is heard saying in Spanish, “I am married to God, and I don’t know what’s going to happen to my husband that’s here (on earth). One of my eyes is mine and the other one belongs to God, so God is watching what you all are doing.”

“I haven’t seen him (Jesus), but he talks to me every day,” Paredes said in the video. “He calls me, and he just recently promised me that he’s coming soon for me and for the good people to take us to the heavens, where I’ll have his baby. I have my husband here, but I don’t know what’s going to happen to him. My husband is Jesus Christ, and he is the one I want to marry.”

According to the San Benito News, Paredes was named the school district’s teacher of year in 2008.

FTC challenges Shape-ups' health benefits. Screen grab via skechers.com.

Skechers has agreed to pay a $40 million fine in response to a Federal Trade Commission complaint that the company has been falsely touting the health benefits of its ‘Shape-ups’ shoes and has been misleading consumers.

The FTC said that Skechers has made  “unfounded claims that Shape-ups would help people lose weight, and strengthen and tone their buttocks, legs and abdominal muscles.”

According to the commission, it was especially concerning that not only did Skechers claim that their shoes helped tone muscles, but they also claimed that the shoes helped with weight loss and improved cardiovascular health. Skechers espoused that ‘Shape-ups’ would promote weight loss and toning because the instability of the shoes’ roller bottoms would force consumers to use more energy during an activity.

The Associate Press reported commission allegations that Skechers falsely represented clinical studies touting the benefits of the shoes. The FTC specifically honed in on an ad where chiropractor Dr. Steven Gautreau cites the benefits of the shoes based on his own independent clinical study. Gautreau is married to a Skechers marketing executive, a fact that the FTC alleges was hidden. The commission also stated that the health benefit claims are false and that Skechers did not make it clear that Gautreau was compensated for his support according to CNN reports.

Consumers who have purchased the shoes will be eligible for refunds to be furnished from the fine. However, the FTC is unclear as to how much consumers will receive since the amount is dependent upon how many people make claims within the 8-month filing period.

As part of the settlement, Skechers is also barred from making any further claims without sound, scientific evidence. The settlement also covers Skechers’ Resistance Runner, Toners, and Tone-ups shoes.

Of the complaint, David Vladeck, director of the FTC’s Bureau of Consumer Protection, said, “The FTC’s message, for Skechers and other national advertisers, is to shape up your substantiation or tone down your claims.”

The FTC does specify that Skechers has agreed to pay the fine based on a filed complaint. The commission files complaints when they believe laws to be in violation. However, there was no court decision on the case nor has there been an admission. In fact, the AP reports that Skechers is pursuing further research and plans on disputing the claims.

On Sunday, 26-year-old newlywed Estrella Carrera was found stabbed to death in a bathtub while still wearing her wedding dress.

On Tuesday police in Burbank, IL issued an arrest warrant for her husband, Arnoldo Jiminez,30, on murder charges.
Jiminez is 6 feet tall, weighing approximately 220 lbs. He was last seen driving a black, 2006 Maserati sedan

The couple had been married on Friday in the Chicago City Hall. Friends and Family attended a dinner and then spent the remaining of the evening at a Chicago nightclub. The couple was last seen around 4 a.m. Saturday morning.

Relatives have stated that the wedding was a spur-of-the-moment.

“She didn’t want to tell me she had gotten married,” her cousin Sandy Lopez said Monday.  “She didn’t tell anybody besides her father the day before.”

On Sunday Carrera had failed to pick up her two children and her sister became concerened so she requested a well-being check, where the police found Carreras body in the bathtb.

Mr. Jiminez is the father of Carrera’s 2-year-old son and according to relatives they had an on-and-off relationship for about three years. Carrera also has a 9-year-old daughter.

Jimenez has a prior conviction for deceptive practices and in 2003 he was charged with domestic battery, charges were dismissed after the complainant never appeared in court.

Darin Casper, 49, of Cleveland, Ohio, has been arrested and indicted on 150 charges including 146 counts of illegal use of a minor in nudity oriented material or performance, three counts of pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor, and one count of possessing criminal tools, WKYC NBC 3 reports.

Darin’s wife, Rita, had been running a daycare out of their Baltic Road home since June of 2000.  The home daycare was licensed by the county and received public funds to care for poor children while their parents worked or attended school, The Plain Dealer Metro reports.

According to county spokeswoman Mary Louise Madigan, officials from the Child Care Provider Certification Unit first learned of the investigation into Darin on April 16 and the daycare was voluntarily closed by Rita on April 17, The Plain Dealer Metro reports.

However, The Plain Dealer Metro reports that it wasn’t until May 4, the day that the Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children investigators searched the Casper home for evidence and removed the computers containing pornographic videos and pictures of children, that prosecutor Bill Mason’s office learned that a daycare had been being run out of the residence.

Although a spokeswoman for the prosecutors office said that the daycare was no longer in operation that day, neighbors told The Plain Dealer Metro that several parents were continuing to leave their children at the home until recently. One neighbor said that there were children at the Casper residence playing in the front yard the day Darin was arrested.

The Plain Dealer Metro reports that a  handwritten cardboard sign hung on the door of the Casper residence says: “No Thing to Say. Stay Off Private Property. He is inisentent.”

Investigators have not said whether any children who attended the daycare were depicted in the pornographic material. The Plain Dealer Metro reports that Darin’s lawyer, John Cameron said “There are absolutely no allegations, that I am aware of, involving any of the children in the day care.”

According to WKYC NBC 3, Darin’s case was uncovered by the Utah Attorney General’s Office and the Utah Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force while back in January 2012 they were investigating a Utah suspect for trading child pornography.  After a search warrant was executed, the Utah resident admitted to downloading, sharing and exchanging child pornography with others through email.  According to investigators, they searched the Utah resident’s email account and allegedly found multiple emails containing child pornography from Darin Casper.

Investigators allege that Darin created, downloaded, and/or traded files containing child pornography between March 2, 2000, and May 4, 2012, WKCY NBC 3 reports.

According to WKCY NBC 3, investigators seized two computer towers, 417 CD’s, seven cell phones, five laptops, three flash drives, 106 floppy disks, three digital cameras, 55 VHS tapes, one media card, and three hard drives from the Casper residence.

Darin Casper is being held on $100,000 bail and the investigation is ongoing.

For Vicki Gunvalson, it’s been a long season on The Real Housewives of Orange County, so the happy news that her daughter is expecting a baby is a turn in the right direction for the reality star.

Over the course of the beginning of season seven of the popular Bravo show, Gunvalson begins by dealing with her failing marriage. She and her husband Donn separated at the end of season six, and at the beginning of the current season, Vicki put her house up for sale, which was an emotional decision for her.

After the heart-wrenching decision to sell, her daughter, Briana, came to her with the news that her doctor had found tumors near her thyroid and it could be cancer. From the time the tumors were found to the time Briana was wheeled into surgery, Vicki made herself sick with worry for her daughter, agonizing over every single decision that was made in regard to her health. After her surgery, Briana was able to tell her mother they got all the tumors and also removed her thyroid, which meant that Briana would have to take synthetic thyroid for the rest of her life, but it also meant she was likely cancer-free. After the tumors were biopsied, it was revealed that none of them was cancerous and Briana was out of the woods.

In addition to dealing with her daughter’s illness and her own separation and impending divorce, Vicki had to deal with her friends’ opinion of her new boyfriend, Brooks Ayers. Gretchen Rossi’s live-in boyfriend Slade Smiley accused Brooks of being a deadbeat dad and not paying his child support payments. Ironically, Smiley had been accused of just that himself. Aside from Smiley, some of the other women on the show said they felt uneasy about Brooks because of his and Vicki’s behavior and how often Vicki called him. The women observed Vicki and Brooks calling each other at least twice a day and giving each other what they called “daily affirmations,” which were either statements of their love for one another or quotes from other people that they felt represented their love for each other. Vicki acknowledged that the behavior might seem odd to her friends but said she didn’t care because she loved Brooks and would stand by him no matter what.

On the May 1 show came Vicki’s biggest heartbreak of all. Briana invited her mother out to dinner to meet her boyfriend, Ryan Culberson, and dropped a bombshell on her mother. She and Ryan had just gone to Las Vegas, picked up a marriage license and gone to the nearest chapel to get married. Vicki was stunned into silence. In her voice-over, she said she was so upset because Ryan didn’t ask for her daughter’s hand in marriage and didn’t give her daughter the opportunity to have a big, glorious wedding like she deserved. Briana said the two decided to get married quickly because of her cancer scare and the fact that Ryan, a U.S. Army Soldier, had been deployed in Afghanistan. They realized that life was short, she said, and they wanted to be together as soon as they could. The couple assured Vicki that they still wanted the big wedding, and they would have it later, but they didn’t want to wait to get married.

The ceremony is planned, and Star Magazine said it would be happening later this month.

“The only issue I have is that we are over budget,” Vicki said in a Star Magazine interview. “We are at about $47,000, but who’s counting? We spent a little bit more on food and the venue, which we think is so important. We spent money where it counts.”

The vow renewal ceremony will be held in Santa Barbara, where the couple will exchange their vows on a cliff that overlooks the ocean. The sun will be setting as guests enjoy the reception right after the ceremony. According to the International Business Times, there will be between 75 to 100 guests.

According to Us Weekly, the pregnancy was a surprise, but a happy one, to the Orange County reality star, who said her, “love tank is full!”

One source told Us Weekly that Briana is roughly four months along in her pregnancy, and both she and Ryan are happy and can’t wait to start their family.

Around 5 a.m. Tuesday morning in Port St. John, Florida, a mother shot and killed her four children before turning the gun on herself.

Tanya Thomas, 33, shot her children 17-year-old Pebbles Johnson, 15-year-old Jaxs Johnson, 13-year-old Jazlin Johnson, and 12-year-old Joel Johnson. Tod Goodyear of the Brevard County Sheriffs Office said that three of the children had been shot and were able to get away. They went to the home of one of their neighbors for help. Their mother called them back to the house, and then she shot each one, fatally. Neighbors reportedly called 911. When the deputies reached the scene, they found one female dead in the front of the house. They set up a perimeter, and saw someone appear at the front door. That person, Tanya Thomas, then went back inside and the deputies heard shots being fired. They found the other four bodies inside of the home, including that of Tanya Thomas.

A witness on the scene stated that he received a text message from Thomas at 3 a.m., saying that she wanted to be cremated with her children. He did not see the text message until after the shoot had occurred.

Grief counselors were being sent out the the schools that the children attended.

The mother of a 33-year-old inmate who was struck by lightening an killed last May 2010,  has filed a lawsuit against the prison. Linda Bickerstaff claims the prison in which her son was incarcerated, the Belmont Correctional Institution in St. Clairsville, Ohio, failed to take reasonable precautions, allowing her son, Dalin Anderson, to jog inside a metal chain linked fence while storms when storms were approaching. Anderson was among several inmates in the recreation yard at the time but the only inmate to die. Several other inmates were seriously injured.

Bickerstaff has filed a civil lawsuit asking for a minimum of $75,000 in damages.

The prison has denied any wrongdoing however, saying that Anderson died by forces of nature beyond the prison’s control.

An arrest warrant has been issued for a Voulusia County, Florida man after he allegedly beat his girlfriend after grabbing her 3-year-old son out of his car-seat and tossing him across a Daytona Beach parking lot. The incident happened May 15. Police reports say that Joshua Rhoads, 31, got angry with his girlfriend when he perceived her to be driving too slow. Rhoads’ girlfriend claims that her boyfriend starting pressing on the gas from the passenger side and when she told him to stop, he became belligerent. The unidentified woman says that’s when she decided to pull over.

After pulling over into a parking lot, Rhoads allegedly tried to grab the woman’s toddler out of his car seat and when he began to cry, he threw the youngster into the air. The baby boy reportedly flew eight feet before landing on the hard cement, on his back. The girlfriend said she went to her son’s aid and that’s when Rhoads started beating and hitting her.

The toddler was not seriously injured.

Rhoads then fled in a 2001 Cadillac with license plates PEL1J. Today Rhoads still remains at large. Police are asking anyone who knows his whereabouts to contact them at 386-671-5100.
