Baby saved with world’s smallest artificial heart

Doctors in Italy have implanted the world’s smallest artificial heart into a 16-month-old boy, keeping the the baby alive until a donor was located for a transplant. Even though the operation took place last month, it was just made public this week by the doctors at Rome’s Bambino Gesu hospital. Diabetes rising in teen population, according to study

A new study published in the May 21 issue of the journal Pediatrics suggests that the percentage of U.S. teens with diabetes is rising. The study found that the percentage of adolescents (12 to 19) with diabetes or prediabetes increased from 9 percent to 23 percent between 1999 and 2008. Man wakes up at his own funeral

A 28 year-old waiter in southern Egypt turned his own funeral into a celebration when he woke up during the proceedings, hours after having been declared dead.
