Latisha James arrested after trying to choke another mom during her child’s elementary school talent show. Mug shot via St. Cloud Police Dept.
Two women are banned from a central Florida elementary school on Wednesday after they got into a brawl on school property while attending their children’s end of year talent show on Friday.
Latisha James and Jessica Tyler reportedly got into a fist fight after getting into a confrontation during the talent show.
There are conflicting reports as to how the fight started, with some eyewitnesses suggesting to police that the fight stemmed from James accidentally bumping into a child while other eyewitnesses say it was because Tyler was videotaping the talent show, blocking James’ view, enraging her.
James reportedly grabbed Tyler by the neck and started chocking her while throwing punching at her head. Tyler then fought back while both moms hurled a string of obscenities at each other. Another parent stepped in to break up the fight while school staff called police. Both women claim it was the one who started it.
Police arrested Latisha James after most eyewitnesses claimed she was the perpetrator and Tyler was trying to protect herself, however, because of the conflicting reports, police are still considering charging Tyler as well.
Tyler told WKMG that she thought it was unfair that she was being punished after only trying to defend herself. Tyler said she’s now unable to attend her daughter’s fifth grade graduation at Lakeview Elementary School in St. Cloud, although, she claims she is the victim in this case.
