The parents of slain NYC children Lulu Krim, 6-years-old, and Leo Krim, 2-year-old, announced on Thursday that they are expecting a baby boy after two of their children perished when they were stabbed to death by the children’s Nanny in October 2012.
Nanny Yoselyn Ortega, 50, admitted to stabbing the children, before she made a weak attempt at ending her own life. Ortega later allegedly confessed to a police offer that she did it because she resented the children and lavish lifestyle.
The children’s mother, Marina Kim, discovered the bodies of two of her children when she came back from a doctor’s appointment with her middle child and found Lulu and Leo, in their apartment bathroom, covered in blood.
The children’s father, Kevin Krim, is a CNBC executive and their mother, Marina, is a physician.
Kevin and Marina Krim made the announcement public via Facebook, saying they are having a baby, an event they hope will turn some of the grief they have into joy, especially for their only surviving child, Nessie, 4-years-old.
The Krims wrote on the Facebook wall, the Lulu & Leo Fund, a charity dedicated to arts enrichment in memory of their two deceased children:
“We are very happy to let you know that Marina is expecting a baby in the fall. Nessie can’t wait to welcome her new baby brother. We are filled with many emotions as we look to the future, but the most important one is hope.
We are very grateful to you all for your amazing support.”
