Walmart customers at an upstate New York store got more than they bargained for when a fellow customer went into labor while they were shopping Thursday evening.
The pregnant woman was reportedly near the pharmacy when she went into labor. A customer called 911 but the baby wasn’t in the mood to wait, so customers had to step up and coach the woman through her delivery.
Paramedics arrived shortly after the baby’s arrival and took the mother and newborn to a nearby hospital where they are both reportedly in good condition.
The manager, who identified herself at Sherise, at the Walkill Walmart, confirmed the story but did not disclose the baby’s gender and said that information would likely be available today. Sherise also confirmed that the baby was born around 8 P.M..
