The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada in cooperation with Baby Jogger LLC has issued a recall of City Versa™ jogging strollers.
The stroller is being recalled as a result of a reported six cases where the folding mechanism’s failed to lock. No injuries have been reported however.
The strollers were manufactured between May 15 and August 20, 2012. Manufacture dates can be found on the stroller’s black plastic side hinge. About 8,400 unites were distributed in the United States and 2,200 in Canada.
The CPSC’s press release notes that the strollers “have charcoal-colored metal frames with black, silver, red or green fabric stroller seats and canopies”.
The strollers were manufactured in China and sold at buybuy Baby and other juvenile product stores nationwide. The stroller sold for about $450.
CPSC goes onto recommend, ”Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled strollers and contact Baby Jogger for a free replacement stroller frame.”
