A Naperville, Illinois woman has been charged on Thursday with first degree murder after she admitted to stabbing to death her 8-year-old son and a 5-year-old girl she was babysitting on Tuesday.
Elzbieta Plackowska, 40, was babysitting Oliva Dworakowski, who was a kindergartner at Brookdale Elementary and while also caring for her young son, Justin, who attended Scott Elementary in Naperville.
Naperville police reportedly found the children stabbed to death after arriving at the woman’s townhouse to perform a well-being check. It is not clear who called the police, however police reports state that the woman was acting erratically prior to the murders.
Plackowska’s husband reportedly told police that he and Plackowska were arguing for days before the tragedy because Plackowska wanted to return to her native Poland.
Plackowska admitted to police that she killed the children because she felt they were possessed by demons and that she heard voices in her head telling her to kill the children.
Police say that Plackowska was covered in blood when they arrived at crime scene. The children were found to have been stabbed dozens of times. Two dogs were also found stabbed to death at the residence.
