Michelle Dugger joined Savannah Guthrie on the Today show this morning along with her husband, 19 children, daughter-in-law and two grandchildren to kick off new episodes of their 6th season of TLCs 19 Kids and Counting. Guthrie wanted to know right away if the Duggars came on the show to make an important announcement about a pregnancy, to which Mrs. Duggar responded to the question about being pregnant, “Not that I know of. We would love to but we don’t today.”
Guthrie then asked if the couple wanted to realistically expand their family even further.
Mrs. Duggar said, “We definitely are. We would love more if the Lord saw fit to give us more. So we will wait and see, but today isn’t one of those days where we get to make that kind of announcement.”
She went on to say later in the show, “It will be a sad day for me when we can no longer have any more.”
Guthrie also asked the wife of one of the Duggar’s sons if she planned to carry out the tradition to have an extraordinarily large family. Anna Duggar responded, “We would love more and I think we’re just learning to love the two children that God has given us and he wants to give us more, we would be grateful.”
Mrs. Duggar’s husband, Jim Bob also told Guthrie why they feel it’s important to continue the show. “We feel like it’s a family ministry.”
Season six of the reality TV show, 19 Kids and Counting premieres Tuesday, August 29th on TLC at 9/8c.
